🛒 Have you heard of the 6-5-4-3-2-1 grocery shopping method?
It’s a simple framework created by Chef Will Coleman to make grocery shopping easier ~ without rigid meal plans or overbuying.
The idea is easy:
  • • 6 vegetables
  • • 5 fruits
  • • 4 proteins
  • • 3 starches
  • • 2 sauces or spreads
  • • 1 fun thing just for you
What I find interesting is that this method doesn’t just make shopping easier, it actually helps food last longer in the fridge.
Because you’re buying in proportion:
  • You’re less likely to overbuy items that go unused
  • Meals come together more naturally, so ingredients get reused
  • There’s less impulse shopping and less food forgotten in the back of the fridge
It’s simple structure, but it reduces waste and decision fatigue.
Do you usually shop with a list or just grab what looks good?
What foods tend to spoil fastest in your house?
Would a loose framework like this help you waste less?
Interested to hear how you shop.
We share simple ideas like this in a small food-focused community for people who want grocery shopping to feel easier and more intentional.
