DES HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT REPURPOSING AGAIN.😬
And before anybody gets excited, this isn't something you do with old underwear.
We're talking EVENTS.
Apparently, once you've spent all that time creating and running one, you're not supposed to shove the recording into a classroom somewhere and never speak of it again.
Who knew?
Well... Des Dreckett did of course, which is mildly annoying. 😂
But he has a point.
Think back to your last event. Somewhere in that hour there was probably a brilliant question, a two-minute explanation that really landed, something funny that happened or a conversation that would be useful to somebody who wasn't there.
That's all content you've already created.
Yet we're a funny lot. We'll finish an event, breathe a sigh of relief, stick the replay somewhere safe and then sit down the following morning thinking...
“Right. What on earth am I going to post about today?”
THE THING YOU DID YESTERDAY, SUSAN. 😂
Your event doesn't have to stop working just because everybody's gone home.
A good question can become a post. A useful section can become a short video. A discussion can start another conversation, and the replay itself gives people who missed you the first time another chance to discover you.
Des and I are actually putting a lot of thought into this whole event journey inside Skool Events Daily — not just getting people to an event, but helping hosts get more from the work they've already done.
If that's your sort of thing, come and have a nose around:
Meanwhile, I'm off to find out what else Des knows that he's neglected to tell me.
Could be a long afternoon. 😂
