A little human moment from me this week…
On Sunday, I slipped into a creative rabbit hole — and I only really resurfaced yesterday. Even today (Thursday), I’m still feeling the effects of it.
It started with one tiny story idea.“Let me just jot this down,” I said. And suddenly I was hours deep into outlining a full plot, researching medical conditions, reading doctor notes, building characters… completely gone from the real world.
My dog Loki was absolutely judging me.
Then Monday arrived… with another idea. And there went another full day.
By the time I finally looked up, I was tired, dehydrated, underslept, and slightly amused by how completely I’d been consumed by it all.
So here’s my curious, honest question to anyone who relates:
Do you fall into these obsessive creative rabbit holes too?
Where days blur and you suddenly realise you haven’t slept properly or drunk enough water?
And if yes…
How do you pull yourself back out without losing the spark or punishing yourself for getting swept up in it?
I’d genuinely love to hear your experiences, tips, or even your own rabbit hole stories. If nothing else, we can make each other feel a lot less human-in-progress this week.
