I run a skool group called Has2BGreen. Its focus is on the science of climate change, but the change is caused and denied by people who profit from it, or who do not understand the issue.
Let's face it, I do too. I use electricity and drive a petrol car. Yes, I do all the things I can to reduce my impact, but still the climate is changing.
There is no shortage of people telling us this is a natural swing, the world has always done this, it cannot be our fault.... and so on.
It can feel futile.
But it is worth understanding how we got here. Where "here" is and what might happen if we do not "course correct".
So that is what I set out to do - learn the science, test the alternative story lines, look at the systems behind the causes. And then - work out what to do about it.
The group shares what I have found and how I am engaging in our localk community and politics to make change happen,
The aim is to inform, prepare and activate people to learn more and join me in making bigger changes.
The work reduces the sense of dispair. It is enjoyable to meet fellow activists and share stories.
