After deciding to leave everything behind about 7 years ago, I gradually started to realise that I had been focusing on the wrong things in life. I used to focus on what I wanted to have without even knowing if it would make me happy. Similarly, I thought of everything I wanted to do which was very much based on what everyone else was doing.
A big house? A good job? A nice car? A lot of money? I have never felt more alive with nothing to my name, exploring the world one step at a time, feeling incredibly rich.
Not because I had a lot of money, on the contrary.
Not because I was doing what you are supposed to do to be happy.
No, simply because I already was. Because of the life I was living.
The choices I was making. The way I was trusting my intuition to guide me, for my curiosity to show me where to go next. And if that felt right, it was because of "it" being right, not because of having or doing in anything in particular.
I went from the most common approach to life:
โ HAVE โ DO โ BE
To living life intentionally, focusing on what already is, what I already am:
โ
BE โ DO โ HAVE
A question for you:
What is it you are looking for?
- Is it something you'd like to HAVE?
- Is it something you'd like to DO?
- Or is it something you'd like to BE?
