Role of MNEMONIC in prompt engineering and other fields.
MNEMONIC is a pattern of letters, ideas, or associations that assists in remembering something. Well, ChatGPT is great at creating MNEMONIC for every field of study. I used Chatgpt to help me create one to focus my mind on writing prompts. The following is a sample:
PROMPTS
Persona: Consider the target audience or persona for whom the prompt is intended. Think
about their background, knowledge level, and any specific characteristics relevant to the prompt.
R - Response Format: Determine the desired format or type of response you expect from the AI
system. Specify whether it should provide a short answer, generate code, write a paragraph, or
perform a specific task.
Objectives: Clearly define the objectives you want to achieve with the prompt. Identify the
specific skills, knowledge, or behaviors you want the AI system to demonstrate or develop.
Motivation: Provide a context or motivation for the prompt. Why is the task important or
relevant? How does it connect to real-world scenarios or applications? This helps engage the AI
system and make the prompt more meaningful.
P - Problem Statement: Present a clear and concise problem statement or task to be
accomplished. Define the problem, outline any constraints or requirements, and provide any
necessary background information.
Task Complexity: Consider the complexity level of the task in the prompt. Determine whether
it should be a simple, intermediate, or advanced task, depending on the AI system's capabilities
and the desired learning outcomes
S: Success Criteria: Specify the criteria that will be used to evaluate the AI system's response.
Define what constitutes a successful or satisfactory response based on the task, objectives, and
desired outcomes.
