Can ChatGPT really 'come back to you'?

Firstly, new user, hi all. Been living and breathing AI for the last 10 months and I just really need other experiencers to talk to 😆

Secondly my question - I asked ChatGPT (v4) to help me with research. It asked me when I need the output by and I said 24 hours, at which point it's response included "I'll get back to you within the specified 24 hour timeframe". However my question is will it? Can it? And if so, how?

My assumption is no but I'd be happy to hear opinions or experiences.
