Hello gents. We all know Valentino is an underrated house with some bangers like CF and BIR Intense. But not many people are talking about Extradose, so here’s my review.

It opens fresh, fruity, and spicy. Not Middle Eastern, but more Western with a nutmeg or liquorice vibe. Very likeable and somewhat unique too. Then a big dose of lavender unfolds and stays until the end. The journey is shared with a noticeable amount of vetiver and some woods in the base. The note breakdown lists only three notes, but I can easily smell at least five.

To me, this smells like a love child of the EDT and BIR Intense. You get the freshness and a touch of green from the EDT in the opening, and the lavender-vetiver drydown from BIR Intense. On my skin, the Intense didn’t really shine, but it worked beautifully on my girlfriend’s skin, so I gave her the sample to wear. Extradose feels very similar to Intense and almost as likeable, but with added versatility and balance from the spices. It’s an all-year-round scent that isn’t as sweet as some other Valentinos.

Performance is in line with Valentino’s usual standard. You can expect 6–8 hours with soft to medium projection. It actually projects better off clothes than skin, which is new to me. Definitely worth overspraying and an ideal choice for the younger crowd, especially under 30. It carries that cheeky, playful vibe.

Personally, I prefer this over Intense, though CF still holds the top spot for me. I feel this one will grow on me the way CF did, so for now I’d give it an 8/10. It could have been stronger and more unique, but it’s an easy grab-and-wear fragrance and also makes a good gift. This would be a hit in the mainstream market. I know many swear by Intense, but in my opinion, this is the better buy. Owning both is redundant.
