This is my personal list. Not all of these were released in 2025, just picked up and worn by me for the first time in 2025. This is very subjective, and I'm putting it in a little bit of an order, but just know that the order is fairly loose and changes all the time.
). Fine'ry Magical Nomad. I keep talking about this one, but i think Byredo Gypsy Water is one of my absolute favorite scent profiles. It leans feminine, and is very powdery, and definitely not for everyone, but I think that it fits me in a way that most other scents don't. I've worn the original and a couple of other clones (notably Oakcha's version), and Nomad just nails the profile and has better longevity.
). Prisma Parfums Citron - This became my go to scent over the summer. Citrus orange with a powdery musk. Smelled fresh even in the highest heat, and was really enjoyable and fun to wear.
). House of Mammoth Everett - Similar to Citron but with a sweeter scent. Almost like an orange julius (for those who remember) in a fragrance, but without the cloying sweetness. Supported a good cause and was a fun surprise. I didn't like it on the first wear, but completely fell in love by the time I used up the sample.
). Hexenhaus Hexenacht 23 - Smelled like the old head shops where I used to get my "tobacco" supplies back before I quit smoking and drinking. Reminded me so much of my youth that it was quite the nostalgia trip. Not sure I would buy a full bottle of this, but I did love wearing it.
). Jaques Fath Velours Boise - Now discontinued, picked it up on clearance from FragranceNet along with Sur le Verde for about $25 for 100 mL. Nice and woody, it was perfect for the fall, and I'm looking forward to wearing it again in the spring. It's a great workhorse fragrance perfect for the office and shooting weddings.
). Mauboussin Star Pour Homme - One of the best vanilla fragrances I've ever owned. It smells like a $300 fragrance, but sells for around $35. This was a blind buy, and I was super happy with the results. There's a feminine version that's supposed to lean unisex, and I might pick that one up, too.
). Mauboussin Une Histoire d'Homme Irresistible - Another blind buy bought on the back of Star Pour Homme. Absolutely incredible and one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. Versatile, beautiful, dark, green, but clean and a bit spicy. It's the best of all worlds.
). Andrea Maack Flux - Blueberry and Pine. Who knew? I wore this all over Europe back in October, and it became one of my favorite fragrances. If I could afford a full presentation ($245 for 50mL), I would definitely pick this one up.
). City Rhythm Nashville - chocolate and coffee. After Austin, it's become my favorite from City Rhythm, and is one of my favorite gourmands as well. I love the scent of chocolate and coffee, and I like smelling like chocolate and coffee. I don't wear it very often, but when I run out, this is tops for getting a large bottle.
). Tom Ford Black Orchid Reserve - I only had a small sample, but it's become one of my favorite Tom Ford fragrances. The EDP is what I consider the closest thing to a winter time signature and is my go-to for when I want to feel special or be with someone special. The Reserve takes that DNA and makes it darker, deeper, and even more interesting.
). Bond No 9 Bleecker Street - I hated this when I first tried it, but I was determined to use up the 5 mL decant I had of it. By the time I was done I had really come to appreciate its versatility and easy wearing. Perfect for an office environment any time of year. Slightly green with a light dry down. Absolutely brilliant. If I can find this at a reasonable price point, I will likely pick it up at some point, though I am not in a big hurry. If I only had these 25 fragrances, then it would fit nicely with the collection.
). Imaginary Authors The Abandoned Mansion - one of my top favorite IA fragrances. May not be for everyone, but it speaks directly to my inner goth. Perfect for the fall and early spring. The soap is amazing, too.
). Heretic Perfumes Nosferatu - Smells like a dewy meadow just before sunrise while standing next to granite headstones or cement pavers in a garden. One of the best wet earth petrichor fragrances I've ever smelled. I wish the longevity was better, but for the type of fragrance it is, it's perfect.
). Hexenacht Big Toddy Goth Girl - uh.... do I really have to explain? It smells like a butterscotch hot toddy and it's named after two of my favorite things in the world. How could I not like this?
). Versace Eros Najim - I know a lot of people have ragged on this, but I love it. It's perfect for going out in the late fall and early spring and hanging out with friends. It's mass appealing, and has a lovely dry down, and sometimes it's okay to just like those things.
). Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special - I have a little decant that I used up, and I bought Rockstar from Dua, and it's an amazing scent profile. Perfect for concerts and band photo shoots.
). Byredo Mojave Ghost - Excellent for the high heat of summer. It gets better with heat, and became a go to over the summer when temps got over 100 degrees (38C)
). Theodoris Kalotinis 1989 - Plum, pepper, and patchouli. Very masculine and old school in a way that's nostalgic and comforting. Bought in Greece at the place he got his start in the town I grew up in. This one is associated with a lot of good memories for me.
). Ibrahim Fuhaid Orrissila - A present for my birthday. It's heavy on the Orris root and Iris. It reminds me a lot of Dior Homme Intense, but takes the Iris and really dials it up. Another one that leans feminine, but that i am drawn to over and over again. It's become my fancy dinner fragrance.
). Widian London - Holy smokes, this one is beautiful. If you haven't tried it, get yourself a 2mL sample and then have your significant other change the PIN on your bank card so you don't spend your life savings buying everything Widian has to offer.
). Tauer No2 L'Air Du Désert Marocain - one of the most masculine fragrances I've ever smelled. It is manhood in a bottle. The EDT is light and breezy, and disappears with the wind, but the new Extrait lasts forever.
). Armani Acqua di Gio EDT - Fell in love with this over the summer. The sample sat on my shelf for nearly a year, and I love it. I have the Elixir version, but it's a different beast. I think the EDT is wonderful, and I'm going to definitely try the EDP.
). Bath & Body Works Wild Wanderer - Discontinued, but I was able to find one of the last bottles in Austin on clearance for $12. It's an amazing spring scent. It's an Eau de Cologne, so it doesn't last very long, but for $12, I don't mind doubling up on the sprays.
). Mancera Fig Extasy - I fell in love with fig notes last spring, and this one takes the fig and dials it to 11. One of the most complimented fragrances I've ever worn. It's great for the spring and fall.
). Une Nuit Nomade Sugar Leather - Picked up a sample at the coolest fragrance store in New Orleans from one of the most beautiful women I've ever met. I covet my little sample, and when it runs out, I will either buy a bigger decant or save up to get a full bottle. One of the best leather scents out there.
Would love to see everyone else's lists.
Here's to a wonderful 2025!
