Gravitas Essentia (recently restocked) for our evening church hymn sing during triple-digit heat en route.

Essentia is the only flanker of Naughton & Wilson. Brightens up the OG, generally recognized as the best offering of this British niche house, all of whose fragrances are classy, dignified, elevated and gentlemanly.

This is a complex fragrance with a boatload of accords that are blended so beautifully that they are virtually indistinguishable on skin and in the air.

If you own the OG, do you need this one? It depends. If you are interested only in the distinctive DNA profile, the answer is no. But if like me you can’t own too many top-shelf gentlemanly fragrances, the answer is yes.

This will probably appeal only to men interested in gentlemanly class.
