Good day everyone!
This week I have tested another 3 interesting samples which are made up of 1 Cologne, 1 Edt and 1 Edp. And here is my take :
- My Favourite... is the Jazz Club by Maison Margiela. This is a very nice fragrance, it's sweet but not too sweet, Peppery, Boozy with Soft Vanilla and a hint of Tobacco leaves and at the same time can be a bit mysterious too. Really love it! And I learned that this one need more applications to ensure that it last long on my skin but I don't mind giving it a dozen sprays!
2. The Surprise package... is Colonia Essenza by Acqua di Parma. This is a cologne, Eau de Cologne to be exact and that is why it surprises me. It performs just like an Edp. And I suspect that it contains a high concentration of perfume oils.
Bright and clean Citrus, fresh Florals with soapy and barbershop vibes. You can imagine a classic and masculine gentlemen riding a Knucklehead Harley in the open field full of a blooming Lily of the Valley!
3. The letdown... is the Tragedy of Lord George by Penhaligon's. Not because it's not a great fragrance but the whole package which includes its selling price. It's the most expensive, retailing at $315 for 75ml in its website, it's an Edp and it's a popular barbershop fragrance.
I love the fresh and clean opening, the soapy barbershop drydown but the performance on my skin is just slightly above average. For the scent I can give a 9/10 score.
So there you go ladies and gentlemen. But what's more interesting is the fact that for 2 consecutive weeks Maison Margiela wins my heart! First it was By the Fireplace and this week it's Jazz Club! 🤔
Thank you everyone and have a great day!
