To put it mildly, today was filled with contradictions. Bad news followed by good news, ups followed by downs:

Professionally - things started off a bit contentious with clients, but once the dust settled all was just jim-dandy.👍

Personally - Today is FINALLY my wife's real birthday so the week-long "celebration" and "fun" is FINALLY coming to an end.

Recreationally - On the golf course I experienced the dreaded "Ray-Ray". A Ray-Ray is when you play one nine like Ray Floyd (Golf Hall of Famer) 🏌️⛳ and then you play the second nine like Ray Charles (legendary singer, song-writer and performer, but completely blind.) Needless to say, ol' Ray Charles wasn't known for his golfing skills 😎. And the last contradiction; I won the money but I had to buy the drinks for EVERYONE because of the Ray-Ray.🤑 Word to the wise: Participating in "birdie shots" on the front nine is ill-advised.🙄

So now the question becomes what frangrance(s) would represent all these contradictions today? Clearly a blend is in order. I've been wanting to reach for my Black Afgano for a while so the question is what's the exact opposite of the dark, smoky and quite polarizing Black Afgano? How about the happy and cheerful crowd-pleaser Xerjoff's Naxos? Yeah! It WORKS!

Black Afgano: Smoky, resinous, dark, heavy cannabis/oud, woody.

Naxos: Sweet, bright, honeyed tobacco, creamy vanilla, soft lavender.

The result is not just complementary; it is really something quite special. It merges the rough, mysterious, and earthy darkness of BA with the elegant, warmth and gourmand smoothness of Naxos. This creates a deeply complex scent that is greater than the sum of its parts. It's a winner!

I"m expecting great longevity based on the players here. Given the facts and circumstances today, I have to rate this is a: 9.0 / 10.0.
