SOTD - Tero by Nishane
For the fifth and final day of my Nishane Time Capsule Discovery Set testing, I was hoping for something special. If not brilliant, I would take exciting. Heck, I’d even settle for “decent”.
And decent is exactly what I got.
Tero starts strong with a lively blast of salted caramel. It’s not syrup sweet, tempered as it is by a black pepper spice that both calms and elevates. My first smell was accompanied turn of the head and a muttered “okay”… it was definitely intriguing. As I waited for a development into a promised patchouli and cinnamon, I did appreciate a subtle shift away from straight-edged sugar, but it was insolvent enough for me to breeze past it without fanfare. The dry down, however, was much more approachable, with a woody greenness and an unexpected warmth that I found very pleasant.
It lasted well, too. Maybe that was accelerated by a hint of overspraying due to atomiser woes, but I got strength in performance and decent projection for at least six hours. And this was happening as I braved the cold winds of a northern English spring day.
Overall, while I did like this fragrance, it sat a little close to a number of other sugar scents in my collection for me to consider anything more than a successful test and a nod of the head. One for the journal, but not one for the shelf. Approved!
