This is an aromatic/woody fragrance, part of Lacoste’s iconic L.12.12 line, launched officially in early 2026. It was crafted by perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui, known for balancing fresh, accessible notes with deeper, sophisticated structure. Unlike many modern releases that chase loud or sweet profiles, this one stays true to the brand’s DNA: clean, sporty & effortlessly refined. It's designed for everyday wear, but with enough character to feel intentional, not generic. It’s meant to capture that crisp, relaxed energy of a bright day, rooted in that classic Lacoste style but updated with modern ingredients that feel smoother & longer lasting than older versions I’ve tried.
When I first sprayed it, the opening hit with bright, zesty bergamot & a sharp hint of grapefruit, mixed with a cool, aquatic note that feels like a breath of fresh air. It's energetic but never harsh or synthetic. Within minutes, it softens into a heart of clary sage & violet leaf, giving it that green, slightly herbaceous freshness that feels natural & calming, not sharp. What stands out most is how balanced it is: nothing overpowers anything else. After about an hour, it settles into a base of cedarwood, ambergris, with a touch of musk. It's warm, smooth, and woody, but still light enough that it never feels heavy or cloying on the skin. I’ve worn it a few times over the last 7days and it works perfectly: fresh and lively in the heat, and warm enough to feel cozy when it’s cooler. It doesn’t scream for attention.
As the first Lacoste to earn a space on my shelf, I’ve come to appreciate just how reliable & well-made this is. Longevity is acceptable, around 5 hours on my skin, with a soft, pleasant trail that lingers without being overwhelming. Sillage is moderate: close enough to feel personal, but it projects gently so you don’t leave a cloud behind you. It’s versatile in a way few fragrances are: perfect for work, casual days, dates, or just running errands. It’s simply a really well-done, fresh, woody scent.
