Been waiting around quite a while on this one, for a long time it was exclusive at the Duty free. But it finally hit the shelves. So was it worth the hype? Simply put, Beyond takes the structure of the OG scent & elevates it with a prominent, soft leather note & a vibrant ginger opening. It’s an excellent option if you enjoy fresh-spicy fragrances but are looking for a deeper, more refined masculine edge.
The opening starts with a strong, energetic burst of fresh, spicy Ginger & a Manioc Accord, (derived from cassava/yucca), which can provide a subtle, almost creamy or slightly sweet nuance to the freshness. As it transitions, you will find that eather note, which is the defining characteristic of this fragrance. It's not a harsh, animalic leather, but a clean, refined suede or soft leather that blends with a touch of saffron for a velvety, spicy texture. The dry-down settles into a warm, woody, and slightly sweet base. Cedarwood anchors the leather, giving it structure, while a hint of vanilla or sweet woods softens the edge, making the trail sophisticated & inviting.
This is a more mature, mysterious & sophisticated older brother to the classic Boss Bottled EDT. It projects confidence and refinement. Whilst the leather makes it suitable for evening wear, the ginger and fresh aspects prevent it from being too heavy, making it surprisingly versatile for professional settings, daytime, or evening events. I'm getting about 6 hrs on my skin. It has a strong, noticeable projection for the first 2-3 hours, making a confident statement without being overwhelming. After that, it settles closer to the skin as an elegant scent bubble. So whilst it ain't the best in the range, it does try to go down a different path which is good to see, and it is actually a rather enjoyable scent. I like this one.
