SOTD – Amouage Purpose EDP

Today I decided to put Purpose EDP on the skin. I held off on retesting Purpose 50 until I get a proper fine mist atomizer because I’m pretty sure the decant sprayer was affecting the way that extrait performed. So for now I’m starting fresh with the EDP to get a baseline.

Right off the first spray there’s an actual pop to this one. I get a clear burst of citrus on top and a noticeable bit of spice. I’m pretty sure that spiciness is the pimento pepper coming through because it has that warm, slightly sharp kick in the opening. Compared to Purpose 50, this one lifts off the skin immediately. It doesn’t cling or sit heavy. There’s more brightness and more movement in the air around me.

It’s interesting because the Purpose 50 extrait wore extremely quiet and stayed close to the skin all day, so the difference here was almost immediate. Purpose EDP feels more alive on my skin. I’ll keep wearing it through the day to see how the heart and base develop, but the opening already feels noticeably more energetic than the extrait.
