My thoughts on #1 of 3 Burlington blind buys - La Collection d'antiquités 1505

As I said in an earlier post, this was basically purchased because of my FOMO and the price at Burlington (combined with their return policy.)

The concensus on fragrantica is that this is one of the best clones of TF's Cherry Smoke, which is not something I would personally buy because of its sweetness and its price.

Presentation is not bad as far as the quality of the packaging and the bottle's material itself. Though I think the pocketwatch on the front of the bottle is a little hokey, it's fine within my collection given where I put it on my shelves. In short, the presentation is better than I would have expected.

Opening scent is a strong sweet cherry with a hint of apple and maybe a little floral tone. Given I'm not at all into sweet/gourmandy fragrances, I'm surprisingly OK with the opening. In fact, I kinda like it. There are just too many other things going on for me to focused on just the cherry. It's actually pretty complex and the cherry dials back pretty quickly.

The dry down is quite nice to my nose and I'm picking up on some floral notes and/or maybe some resins.

To summarize, this is a unisex fragrance and a surprising keeper for me. In fact, now that it's on my skin, I'm going to make it my Scent for my bedtime tonight. I'm happy with this purchase and for $29.99, I'm REALLY happy. There's NO WAY I would buy the TF OG, but I'm perfectly fine with this stuff.
