Mes Bisous Passion Island
I've been on a lazy hunt for a tropical fragrance for a while now. I thought I had found it with JPG, but it went too woody on me. Another one I tried leaned too heavily into coconut. So when I ordered a sample of Passion Island, I was curious more than anything.
What impressed me most is that it stayed true to itself. The opening is bright, tart, and unmistakably passionfruit, flanked by mango and pineapple. At times I perceived peach or nectarine. As it wore, it became sweeter and smoother, but the passionfruit never disappeared. I kept expecting it to drift into woods, musk, or some generic drydown, but on my skin the tropical fruit stayed recognizable all the way through the wear. Some might not enjoy that with the potential this has to go beast mode if you really lay it on. As an Extrait de Parfum that shouldn't be surprising.
It's definitely unisex to my nose and probably not a fragrance for someone who dislikes sweeter fruity scents. But if you're looking for a tropical fragrance that actually stays tropical fruit, this one is worth a sample. I haven't found my just right tropical fragrance yet, but this is one of the better attempts I've sampled so far.
