So i just got back from my trip to Los Angeles this weekend, where I caught the Paraguay vs. US game and enjoyed a fantastic Ringo concert. Amidst the hot LA heat, I was excited to finally try out my brand-new bottle of Mango Ice by Gulf Orchid. Here are my thoughts on this fragrance.
From the very first spray, Mango Ice presents a fresh and vibrant mango scent. It's as if you've just sliced into a whole mango—the aroma of the juicy flesh mixed with the skin is captivating. There's also a cold, refreshing quality to it, reminiscent of something that has just come out of the refrigerator. After a few minutes, the fragrance reveals a spicy ginger note that adds depth and complexity to the initial fruity burst, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the mango.
As it dries down, the scent evolves into a creamy experience, likely due to the vanilla notes coming through. To me, it conjured memories of enjoying a mango lassi, where the creaminess and spices meld beautifully with the tropical fruit.
In terms of performance, Mango Ice is impressive. It boasts great projection for the first two hours, then settles closer to the skin while still maintaining a noticeable presence for up to six hours. After the six-hour mark, the scent transforms into a softer skin scent, lingering until my shower about nine hours post-application.
Overall, I find Mango Ice to be a fantastic alternative to God of Fire—offering better performance without the oud. If you're a fan of mango and enjoy the idea of smelling like a creamy mango drink, this scent is definitely worth trying.
