Jo Malone Veggies Collection
My wife and I took a trip to Trafford yesterday, and we picked up a 3x9ml discovery set of their new releases: The Veggies collection.
Here’s my quick thoughts on the three new scents:
Carrot Blossom: The most subtle of the three. Fresh and a touch earthy, with a delicate floral core. Evocative but not as direct as, say, the rose in Red Roses. Fresh, but in a rich way.
Scarlet Beetroot: Interesting almost tangy opener. Again, fresh, but not floral. Definite gourmand depth, but a touch zesty and tasty. The most gourmand, but also the best of the three.
Velvety Buttetnut: Warm and embracing. Silky and nutty throughout, and the least fresh of the bunch. If Carrot feels like a flower and Beetroot feels like a salad, Butternut feels like a soup. Interesting for sure.
Overall: A delightful edition to the Jo Malone range. Not as forward as other JM scents (like the garden florals or the juicy citrus), but beautiful nonetheless. Performance wise, they’re what you’d expect from a JM Cologne.
These feel like a late summer trio that’ll segue nicely into more autumnal offerings from other houses.
My fave? Beetroot. Wife’s fave? Beetroot. Shop Assistant’s fave? Beetroot.
Give them a look if you can.
