Having Honest Conversations in the BoS Community

Have you ever read a brother's post and felt compelled to say more? Sometimes it's because you're genuinely happy for them, and adding a comment is easy. But how do you react when the post raises concerns? These concerns can range from being upset by the comments for various reasons to feeling empathy for a loss that was suffered. What if you disagree with how the person approaches the hobby? The toughest scenarios are when you strongly disagree with their statements. In such situations, do you decide it's not your business, or do you try to offer advice?

From time to time, I have been quite direct and ended up in "fights." This hasn't always been successful, but I am not one to naturally turn a blind eye. Usually, I start in the DMs, but if the brother takes it public, I may decide to engage more openly. How do you approach controversial issues?
