Hey good people, I’ve been experiencing a lot of fragrances lately, decants and full bottles, but I’ve been busy and haven’t had the chance to write reviews. Vanille Planifolia is one of those bottles I’ve been trying to figure out. I wore it for three days in a row and yeah… now I get it.
This is hands down the most beautiful vanilla I’ve ever smelled, deep, natural, rich, and never childish. If vanilla were silk, this would be it. Opening is loud and confident for about 30 minutes, warm, spicy vanilla with that Guerlain elegance, then it calms down and becomes a luxury skin scent bubble. Don’t confuse soft with weak though: this thing lasts 12+ hours easily, just closer to the skin, refined and intimate.
At first, I questioned the performance (especially at this level), but wearing it often made it clear: this is intentional. It’s not screaming for attention; it’s whispering quality.
Comparisons:
If you know Spiritueuse Double Vanille this feels more polished, smoother, less boozy, and more “haute parfumerie.” Think grown-up vanilla, closer in spirit to high-end ambers like Babycat, Grand Soir elegance, but cleaner, refined and more sensual.
This is not a beast-mode projector. Absolutely a masterpiece of vanilla. Comforting, luxurious, addictive. This one grows on you… and once it clicks, it really clicks.
