FRAG REVIEW - Mancera Tonka Cola

Hey frag fam, Joe A. here! Today's frag: Mancera Tonka Cola! Woohoo, a hype-train newbie! Tonka Cola opens with a sweet cherry and cinnamon combo that immediately makes me think of cherry coke! I do get a bit of lemon around the edges giving it a fizzy, effervescence feel! In the opening, this scent does project and can fill the room.

Given the strong opening, I wanted to take it easy, with 6 sprays across shoulders and chest. TC is a bit warm, not terribly, and is inviting. If applied too much, I can see this becoming too cloying. Projection starts moderate, but actually dies off a lot earlier than the average Mancera. It became a close/skin scent around the six hour range. In the mid, I pickup a small bit of orange as the lemon disappears. The sweetness continues as the cherry morphies into a Tonka bean scent. At dry down, I get a smooth vanilla scent that keeps TC sweet. Longevity for me is just shy of 8 hrs, I wouldn't call it 'beast mode'. I'd say this is good for colder seasons and somewhat favors evening wear. Very nice for date night and 'cozy couple' time.

Final Verdict: Mancera Tonka Cola, is it worth all the hype? Well, it does give off a sweet cherry cola vibe. However, longevity and projection are middling. Versatility is somewhat limited.

Joe Average Rating (JAR®): This is a great scent for the enthusiast but for the Joe Average recommendation = Decant if you want to try a unique date night scent. Don't do what I did and jump on any hype train this early, pick it Manceras when they go to the discounters.
