Brompton Immortals Extrait De Parfum by Ex Nihilo

Good morning, Brotherhood!

Today I’m bringing you my thoughts on another Harrods exclusive beauty called Brompton Immortals from the house of Ex Nihilo. This one is classified as an oriental floral and was launched in 2023 by the talented Jordi Fernandez, a nose responsible for creations from houses like Etat Libre d’Orange, Nishane, Montblanc, Maison Crivelli, and many more.

Right from the opening, you’re hit with a bright, lively burst of saffron that carries a subtle spice. There’s also a soft kiss of fresh rose petals, but they take a back seat early on, letting the saffron do most of the talking. About 20 minutes in, the fragrance begins to shift. The saffron remains the star, but it eases up just enough to allow the rose and some white florals to shine through. Around this stage, a touch of vanilla starts creeping into the blend, adding warmth and smoothing everything out beautifully. From here on, this is where the fragrance settles and stays for the remainder of the wear.

Performance is really solid and I got around 8-9 hours of longevity with well above average projection for the first couple of hours. This one definitely announces itself. About an hour in, I stepped outside to grab my Uber Eats and was immediately hit with an unsolicited compliment from the driver, who absolutely loved it. While the fresh rose DNA may lean slightly feminine to some, a confident man can pull this off without question, making it a true unisex fragrance in my book.

Out of the three Ex Nihilo fragrances I’ve tried so far, this one easily takes the top spot.

Would I buy a full bottle?

Heck yeah if the price was a little friendlier but I don’t see they happening anytime soon. So I’ll be happy if there’s an alternative.
