A Surprise and a Lesson

Wanted to share an experience about my day that has allowed me to grow once again with my brothers. I had shared in an earlier post about an event I had to attend for the first half of the day during which I decided to wear Versace Man Eau Fraîche. My brothers have bade me repeatedly not to be a sissy sprayer. Well, today I decided to spray like a man and here is what happened. In the receiving line my wife and I ran into friends of ours we hadn't seen in a long time because they had relocated. We chatted as we moved along in the line and the man kept leaning in when he spoke to me. He eventually apologized for getting so close but said he really like my cologne, asked me what it was, and said, man, that is some really great stuff!

When we left the luncheon that followed we headed to Lowe's to buy a birthday present for a friend's little boy, who was asking for play sand for his sand box. When I went to where they kept it in the store, I saw a sign that said, this item available from the loading zone, so I headed right to the check out counter. The woman who waited on me said hello and asked me why I was coming to the check out counter without anything in my cart. When I explained she said, sir, you have won a prize! You are the first person in the history of our store to respond appropriately to that sign! I said, wow, what did I win? She said you won the privilege of being the first in the history of the store to respond appropriately to that sign. I said, well, that's not much of a prize. She said, well how about this, I don't know what the cologne is that you are wearing right now, but it is incredible! I have to get this for my husband, what is it?

So the surprise of the day was that I may have determined that light spraying does tend to keep the compliments from coming and that this frag got to a man as much as it got to a woman, apparently. The lesson I learned was to take the advice of my brothers and not be a sissy sprayer. Because I was generous with the application, this frag continued to project long after I had sprayed it on, negating the application of a second fragrance before my grandson's football game. The best surprise was that his team won their first game of the season and he made a touchdown for the victory!
