Wrapped and Woven Handles
New in the Classroom: Wrapped & Woven Handles with Offerings of Wonder by Lorelea We have a new playlist in the Classroom. Lorelea from the Offerings of Wonder YouTube channel graciously permitted us to pull together a curated playlist of her handle tutorials — 13 videos covering wrapped and woven techniques. We've organized them in the classroom so they're easy to find and come back to. We wanted you to have some fun ideas to work with while Brittany builds the techniques library. Head to the Classroom to check it out. Look for Wrapped & Woven Handles.
Bean pot??
My first try at s/s twill. I see that I need to work on weaver tension.

Day Lily cordage? Truth or Wishful Thinking
So, the heat in NC is beyond hot for this season (not summer yet but in the low 90s). My day lilies are succumbing quickly. I've seen @Brittany Stanton tutorial on tulip cordage. My question is has anyone worked with day lily fronds? Yellow before totally browning, is pliable.

How to “Fail” Successfully
As a perfectionist… (who is also budget-conscious and a beginner) can someone give me a TedTalk on how to “practice” without feeling like I’m “wasting materials”? I hope you all know the feeling of “well, that didn’t turn out right — what do I do with this now?” It feels like throwing away money when I make something I’m not satisfied with. And how to display or gift something that is wonky or not quite right? On a fundamental level, I understand the value of keeping work that isn’t quite what I’d envisioned in order to look back on it and see how far I’ve come, but I still have that nag in my head who thinks it has to be “perfect or not at all”. Edited to Add: I think @Brittany Stanton already answered this in my email inbox “TI Weekly Digest: Wonky tension and muddy dye jobs - bring it on!” IT’S LIKE YOU KNEW! Lol
Wrapped Handles Made with Reed?
How do you make basket handles from reed not a wooden carved handle? How do you wrap them in a decorative way? Most importantly, how do reed handles get attached after the basket is completed? Or, do you weave the handles in from the beginning using a very long reed and wrapping it up and over so it creates a handle and two spokes for you basket?
