Directors want me to "cover" AI-music.
As I´m composing for film, some of my client directors / producers come up with tracks that are created with AI and want me to score it and produce it properly. I get the storyboard, or screenplay and the song / theme.
Example: The main theme of the film is a song, that has been created with AI. Now, I´m asked to take this and produce it properly - lengths, hitpoints, instrumentation, real vocals,etc... And it mustn´t cost a thing of course, because the main work has been done already by the director or whoever. This is how it´s argued.
I´m NOT happy with this trend.... to put it mildly....!
I won´t get royalties and the creative process is outsourced to a maschine. Thank you :-(
How do YOU deal with it? Also regarding your rates!?
Looking forward to reading your opinions and experiences.
