The Video Game Music Loop Challenge
Hey everyone, if you are interested to find work in the video game industry, the music writing process is a bit of a different one compared to all the other industries. One of the most important skills is to create music that loops perfectly. ... and here we go with our next challenge. The Video Game Loop Challenge! 🎮 1. Find the picture attached to this post 2. Write a 60-90 sec loop that is fitting the scenery 3. Only focus on the music itself, no sound design, no additional voiceovers etc. 4. The file should be attached to a comment on THIS thread. I would need to be able to download to check it in a DAW or an audio player. Requirement: The audio loop has to loop seemlessly when playing back and perfectly fit the scenery. There should be no glitch, no pause, no hicup or any other sort of distracting stuff going on at the transition point. The winner will be drawn at the end of January 2025. Prize will be lifetime access to my video games course and one month free access to the Audio Artist Rise Program. Have fun!

Great controller for your CCs!!!
Hey folks, I was searching for a solid faderbox to control my CCs in Cubase. I don´t like the cheap 40mm faders in masterkeyboards or the cheap china stuff. Finally, I found Jeroen Kamper selling his stuff on etsy. He builds YOUR faderbox for a bargain. What I´ve got: five 100mm faders in a solid case connected via usb. Free to configure! He will configure it accoring to your wishes. But he´s been developing a websurface where you can do it yourself! Plug and play. No software needed, no installation required. Just plug it in and use it. So my configuration is CC1, CC11, CC18, CC19, CC20. I use the last 3 faders for parameters that can be assigned by the midi-learn feature. Aaaaand....it´s only 50,-€ (my version) The price will be individually regarding the complexity. There´re also knobs available. I just see it´s sold out again. But If you order one, he will build you one! Here´s the link: https://www.etsy.com/de/listing/1804663032/funfkanaliger-midi-mixer?transaction_id=4438441900&ref=proteus_transaction_link&campaign_label=buyer_shipping_confirmation&email_sent=1737401224&euid=tUOwl6or44beHwDhTyBpxeL6auY5&eaid=1338683975467&x_eaid=4144b8b1b2

Have you ever tried Googles NotebookLM? Fantasitc!!!
Hi, I don´t know, if this AI-Tools has been announced here.... If not, you may try Googles NotebookLM. It´s your personal AI-Document and content library. So I uploaded all steinberg manuals and ewql manuals. As well as some youtube videos. If you have a question, just write it down, like in chat GPT. And it serves you the answer right out of your pdf or youtube links. You get the answer AND the corresponding links to your documents. Also the YT videos will be transcriped and you can search for it! E.G. you upload a video-link about mixing an orchestra. Then just write down your question. Maybe: how do I achieve a clearer low end. And it will tell you! Not showing the video, but text including the scource! Absolutely great! I´ll do it with all my ebooks, and videos.

@Alex Pfeffer cool
What's your favorite DAW?
Hey everyone, here is a little action post I want to initiate: I am aware that a DAW is always a matter of taste. I am also aware that a DAW is only as good as the composer and in the end it really doesn't matter because the outcome is what really counts. Howeverrrrrrrrr .... 1. What is your favorite DAW/What is the DAW you are using? 2. Briefly explain why you like it or what features you like it for? Go! :)

I was a big fan and used Logic. I started with Logic 3.0 on a 1,44 floppy disc. At the age of 12. When it was ported to Mac, I had to change to Cubase, because I couldn't afford a Mac. A few years ago I tried Studio one, the first version, I've seen at the Musik Messe in Frankfurt. However my former band used cubase in the rehearsal room. So I went back to Cubase and remained until today. I've been using Cubase Pro since Version 6. Presently, I'm working with CB 13. However, optically, I'd prefer CB 12 to 13.

@Alex Pfeffer I haven't yet. I've upgraded to 13 six weeks prior 14 came out and had no Grace period, unfortunately. So I'll wait until 15 or 16. I only upgrade if there's a benefit for my workflow. The update to 13 was triggered by the improvements of the midi editor and the mixing console. I've got lots of 3rd party plug ins I'm used to and some of CB. Even there are new plugins, I try them out, but still stick to the old ones I'm used to work with 😅.
