INTRODUCING SOMA BREATH: A POWERFUL MODALITY FOR TRANSCENDENCE AND HEALING
SOMA Breath is a beautiful synthesis of ancient pranayama and modern breathwork science — a structured way to use the body as a doorway into expanded states of awareness. Rather than just breathing randomly, SOMA combines three core elements: rhythmic breathwork, visualization, and chanting. Together, these create a full nervous-system experience that regulates the body while opening the mind to deeper perception. Rhythmic breathing helps balance carbon dioxide and oxygen, improving the Bohr effect — the mechanism that allows oxygen to be released efficiently into tissues. Many of us chronically overbreathe, which can increase physiological stress and contribute to fatigue, anxiety, and inflammation. SOMA trains the body to breathe more intelligently, not more forcefully. Intermittent breath holds introduce brief, safe periods of reduced oxygen (intermittent hypoxia). This can stimulate mitochondrial efficiency, resilience, and adaptive stress responses — similar to exercise for your nervous system. Chanting and humming add another layer. The vibration stimulates the vagus nerve and increases nitric oxide production in the nasal passages, supporting circulation, oxygen delivery, and immune function. Sound becomes physiology. There is also a growing conversation around breath and oxidative stress. Overbreathing can increase unnecessary oxygen turnover and free radical production, while slower, controlled breathing supports antioxidant balance and nervous system stability. SOMA helps shift the body from survival chemistry toward regenerative chemistry. Ultimately, SOMA is not just a technique — it’s a way to maximize your body’s bliss potential. It allows you to experience profound states through the human nervous system itself, using breath, sound, and attention as a bridge to what many traditions call Divine Bliss. Right now I’m not running group sessions, but if you’re interested in a consultation, one-on-one guidance, or simply want to talk about SOMA Breath, I’m open. Just reach out.
