I’m finally realizing that a task being simple doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy.
Sometimes the task only takes five minutes, but seems there are twenty invisible steps first: remembering it, switching focus, finding what I need, deciding where to start, overcoming the fight to not start, and then actually doing it.
No wonder a “five-minute task” can take half the day to get started.
Does anyone else mentally calculate tasks by how much activation energy they require rather than how long they actually take?
