At least half of the US is reeling today and feeling strong feelings as a result of last night's news. While this group is non-political and inclusive, but I also want to always be a space of uplift-ment, positivity, connection and support for everyone. And as always, we want to be able to "be with" all of our emotions, even the uncomfortable ones, in an authentic and healing way. Sometime we feel discouraged. Projects didn’t turn out as you wanted, sales didn’t happen as fast, and the permanent to do list is taking more time that what you anticipated. It is OK! You are a beautiful human being! You are taking the next best option available: take a breather, recharge and go at it again! It’s Thursday! What will you complete by tomorrow night? This quote (and a bazillion others!) from the “Power of Systems” book Wendy talked about in the latest PCC club call spoke to me this morning. Ritual has such a different connotation to me. More reverence or something like that. But when I think of that statement “routine is disguised ritual” I’m like, YES. So true! We created a beautiful ritual on the 14th of each month since our son passed away. It’s called Donut Day. It was one of the best things I did for our family. But when you think about it, it’s a routine I created. Every month on the 14th we all have a donut, share photos with each other, my daughters work friends buy donuts, and I will share something on social media about Tom. Really it’s a system or a routine I created. But somehow when you call it a ritual it feels different! Funny. 💙
