Confusion continues…
Just went to see a primary care physician…trying to get to the bottom of this excruciating nonstop ache/pain in my legs & feet. I already knew going in that I wasn’t gonna do what she suggested (Gabapentin or Lyrica) but when I told her I started HRT P caps & T injections she told me she didn’t think T was the answer to my legs “testosterone is only given for 1 primary reason…libido”. I’m dumbfounded & at a loss for words. And THIS is why I trust no one

I don’t like many doctors either. My soon to be former gyno was irritated I was taking to long talking to the nurse at my first appointment. When I told her I had a lot of perimenopause symptoms to discuss she replied “it’s not listed you wanted to talk about hormones”. I told her I didn’t want to talk about hormones I wanted to talk about perimenopause and she said it’s not listed in why I’m there and she left after my pelvic and pap. I’m 52 and she couldn’t be bothered to discuss peri with me and she was a biotch to boot.

@Christa Bowdler thanks. My insurance will change Jan 1 so I’ll be going to someone else; a client of mine referred me to the new guy. Hopefully he’s better.
Tips on what to ask doctor at my appt?
I’m scheduled to talk with my GP to ask her for hormone testing to see where my levels are at this point that it seems peri symptoms have kicked in at a fuller force than ever before. What are some things I should bring up/ask? I have started a list of symptoms to make her aware of and keep track of for my own info.

@Candice Hazlett Jensen estrogen, progesterone and testosterone for starters. But Elevate also ran lipids, Thyroid, BUN, A1C, fasting sugar among others.
✨ If You Could Go Back… What Would You Tell Your Peri-Self? ✨
Hey everyone! 👋 We have a lot of new faces in the group and we’d love to get to know you! Let’s kick things off with a fun question: If you could give your perimenopause/menopause self one piece of advice before it all started, what would it be? Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, or even just a little emoji to say hi! Can’t wait to hear from you all 😄💛

Ask about BHRT and don’t just assume I don’t want hormones.
Well
I had my follow up phone call regarding my labs and by the looks of the numbers I’m No post-menopausal. Estrogen is practically nonexistent. Now I’m armed with knowledge to meet with the new gyno early next year and will be starting DHEA in the meantime. Who here is taking that?

I started using Bonafide products because I didn’t want hormones and back 3 years ago didn’t know about BHRT. I take Relizen and it helps hot flasks but takes 3 months to fully work. They also have Thermella which works better for night sweats but works in 2 weeks. I know some don’t want hormones at all so that’s what I recommend
