Gdoc feedback
Hey all ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™d love some feedback on a pre-order Google Doc for a new offer Iโ€™m testing with my career change audience (Retail Store Managers who want out of retail). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cbgNliFs0vXxiBsnovz0N9mA1AO9zj29vF_7u4GmLuo/edit?usp=sharing Iโ€™ve been reading Fans & Fortunes Formula recently, and one example from Travis really hit home. He talks about building complete, end-to-end systems in isolationโ€ฆ only to hear crickets when they launch. If Iโ€™m honest, Iโ€™ve made that exact mistake before, creating a full โ€œcareer change systemโ€ without properly validating what people actually wanted at that stage of their journey. I get a few people sign up, but considering I've got an audience of 30k+ people, I generally get about 1-2 sales per month from this (and I'm selling nothing else at the moment). So, I started with a simple poll to test demand. Around 20% said theyโ€™d buy, and 50% said they wanted more information. Instead of jumping straight into building, I followed up with people from the poll to understand their real frustrations. Most people werenโ€™t looking for a full programme yet. They were stuck much earlier, simply wanting clarity on what careers they could realistically move into as retail managers. So rather than over-engineering another big solution, Iโ€™ve pulled together a much simpler offer focused purely on that problem: helping retail managers see the options available to them. This Google Doc is intentionally a test, both to give value to those who asked for more info and to see whether people will actually buy before I build anything bigger. Iโ€™d really appreciate any feedback on: - The clarity of the offer - Structure of the gdoc I feel like it's a lot for a simple guide, but it is my first gdoc so gave it a best shot! Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™

@Travis Sago I think this is where I'm coming from a place that I think all of that would take 20 minutes but I've been doing this for 7 years. On the outside it might not look so doable. I really appreciate your perspective Travis! Thank you! I'm going to test a few different headlines, but here's the changes I made based on your feedback. Sourcing products / building offers
I feel pretty confident around getting access to distribution.. communities, newsletters, email lists, etc. Where Iโ€™m still finding it tricky is sourcing the right product to sell/build an offer for those audiences, especially if the community hasnโ€™t been monetised before. At the moment, Iโ€™m wondering whether the right approach is to: - Join the community and actively observe the problems/pain points that come up repeatedly - Then, research existing solutions from the market that will solve those pains and problems - Or running polls or handraisers to test demand for a potential solution/understand potential pain points before building or sourcing anything. What Iโ€™d really love to understand is... How do you go about identifying and sourcing products that genuinely solve a communityโ€™s problems? Interested to hear whatโ€™s worked (and not worked) for others.

@Tom Curtis looking forward to hearing more about it when it's ready
How would you monetize a 100K-member Houston jobs group?
Someone reached out wanting me to run an auction inside a Houston-based jobs group with over 100,000 members. Most posts are either โ€œI need a job in Houstonโ€ or โ€œWeโ€™re hiring.โ€ Iโ€™m guessing heโ€™s already monetizing by pinning posts for a feeโ€ฆ but he wouldnโ€™t say. Wouldnโ€™t jump on Zoom. Stays anonymous. No relationship with his people. So I passed. But now Iโ€™m wonderingโ€ฆ Is there an angle I missed? Itโ€™s a hyper-specific niche. And jobs = money. If you had access to such a group, how would you monetize it?

I've written 500 resumes in the last 3-4 years but I've been writing them for Retail Managers who want to go into different industries. I could potentially put on a zoom with a skool support group on how to build an epic resume tailored to their desired industry.

@Travis Sago really inspiring call Travis thank you. So if someone bids ยฃ10k on a hero package and you secured it for ยฃ5k - youโ€™d take the profit on that from the auction is that right, but then would you take a rev share of the follow ups with everyone that you tapped in that took part in the auction? is that right? Apologies if I've missed some training on this (please point me in the direction if there is anything out there that walks through the auction process). I should really take part in one that a Ronin is running!

@Travis Sago Got it thank you Travis, with the distribution owner. Just making them look like a hero to their audience might be enough in itself. We might not even need to offer a rev share with them if it makes them look like a hero/solve their audiences problem? Like you say depends on the COGS and the conversation but some of these deals could be rev shares with both the distribution owner and the product owner.
