Hi! I was diagnosed ADHD in my mid-20s. At 40, I'm just now grasping what that means for me and my brain! I often wonder how I functioned before and why I can't now. But, I need to stop comparing myself to the masked version I used for survival for so long. I need to educate myself and have compassion for myself. Burnout after long-term masking is a legit thing...it pulls no punches and it has me debilitated. I want to get back into life and prevent this state of being from happening again.

I feel so called out when browser tabs come up. I used to have so many open, each one was only a couple of mm wide... but I also had like a dozen browser windows open at once each with the same amount 🤦‍♀️. Pretty sure tab search in Chrome was invented just for me! fwiw, I moved to the Arc browser, which I still don't ❤️ 100%, but it was definitely designed by people who understand the challenge... I actually close tabs every once in awhile!

Hi, my name is Tamara, I’m from the west coast of Canada, and I usually work in tech leading product teams, but have been on a year long sabbatical while exploring my own business ideas. Currently building an app to help women unravel the symptoms and side effects of perimenopause, ADHD, and other health issues alongside meds and other interventions. I have experience with technology, start-up hustle, parenting teens, and a wide range of hobbies. You can ask me questions about: - Parenting when you share the same challenges with emotional regulation - Using AI to code the great ideas in your brain - Why I can’t seem to submit this until I feel in the third bitten, despite not being able to think of a third item… kidding, I have no answer for that one! 🤔 I want to get these things from ADHD Harmony: 1. The confidence to share my thoughts \ ideas (already working, I NEVER usually post in forums like this) 2. Help persevering when my business ideas get hard, instead of moving onto the next cool idea 3. A better understanding of how to work with my brain instead of against it For fun, I like to: 1. Lift heavy things 2. Play outdoors… mountain biking, snowboarding, swimming, camping… 3. Paint… canvas, walls, whatever A favourite bike camping destination…

@Katie McCarthy omg, the dementia fear! I spent several years avoiding articulating even to myself that I suspected I had early onset Alzheimer’s. Terrifying! Thankfully realized I don’t, but still so pissed that my memory is no longer my super power!
