AI, Education, and the Risk to Creativity
The challenge with students using AI is this: how will innovation and breakthroughs occur if they begin to rely on AI for everything too early? In just a few weeks of using it myself, I’ve noticed how easy it is to accept what AI provides without questioning it. But what if what it shares isn’t the whole truth? What happens to original thought when convenience takes the lead because the world is moving too fast? I experienced this firsthand when AI generated minutes from a meeting I attended. On the surface, the summary seemed accurate. But as I reviewed it, I realized several key points had been left out. It reminded me how quickly we can become dependent on AI, trusting it to “think” for us, while overlooking its limitations because it is so convenient. @Mike Greene This raises an important question for education you queried: if students use AI in schools - it could easily become a default tool, what will that do to their creativity? There is already significant pressure on teachers roles and responsibilities, so can AI be used responsibly? There is already evidence that creativity and risk-taking decline as students grow older. Sir Ken Robinson, in his famous TED Talk “Do Schools Kill Creativity?”, argued that education systems often suppress creativity by rewarding conformity and discouraging mistakes. If traditional schooling already narrows imagination, then what happens when AI enters the mix? On one hand, AI has the potential to enhance learning by providing personalized insights and instant feedback but that will depend on the level of ability to ask probing questions and to dig deep. On the other, it risks making students passive consumers of information rather than active creators of ideas. True innovation requires questioning, experimenting, and sometimes failing, qualities that can’t be outsourced to AI in my opinion. Already university lecturers have challenges around students using AI type of tools to write their essays etc.

I love the example you gave of your daughter’s art. That shows the difference perfectly, AI can enhance what’s already there, but it can’t replace the skill, imagination, and individuality we bring to the table. This is a conversation education really needs to keep having, because as you said, if traditional schooling already narrows creativity, then we have to be extra careful with how AI is introduced. Right?

Do you ask questions for validation or direction?
Morning guys, I’m not pulling any punches today. I’ve been reflecting on the kinds of questions people ask... and what sits behind them. Too often, I see questions asked not to find direction, but to seek validation. To justify why someone isn’t taking action. To protect the very position they claim they want to change. Here’s the truth: 👉 Everyone deserves to be where they are. That might sound harsh, but unless you’re living in a dictatorship, you do have the ability to choose. You’re not a tree. You’ve got legs. You can move, you can change, you can build something new. What I know to be true is this: - People don’t change until they choose to change. - Most people ask questions hoping someone will agree with them and tell them it’s okay to stay where they are. But let me be clear, if you’re not happy with where you are, then it’s not okay to keep doing what you’re doing. If you want different results, you need to take different actions. Because if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. So, when you ask your next question… stop and check yourself: 👉 Am I seeking validation? 👉 Or am I truly seeking direction?

@Don Vidgeon Taking full responsibility can feel tough at first, but like you said, it’s so empowering once that mindset shift happens.

Just STOP talking!!
How to Win the Battle with Your Inner Voice I was listening to Neville Goddard recently, and he said something that, as a behavioural profiler, i know to be true and holds many back: Your inner dialogue creates your world. The problem? We all have doubts. We all hear that inner voice that argues back whenever we set a goal or repeat a mantra. You say: “I’m going to launch my business this year.” Your head replies: “Yeah, where are you going to get the money from?” You say: “I’ll finally make time for my health and fitness.” Your head replies: “Yeah, but when? You’re already too busy.” You say: “I’m going to grow this to six figures.” Your head replies: “Yeah right, not in this economy.” You say: “This time I’ll actually follow through.” Your head replies: “Yeah, you’ve said that before.” You say: “I can build something amazing for my family.” Your head replies: “Yeah, but with this government you’ve got no chance.” You say: “I’m going to smash my targets this month.” Your head replies: “Yeah, and what if you fail again? You’ll just look stupid.” Sound familiar? Here’s the truth: You can NEVER escape from your inner voice...BUT you can beat it It’s okay that you can’t always keep a perfect positive mental attitude. You can’t stop that voice completely... but you can deal with it. So from now on, let’s call give that voice a name: - It helps make it NOT you, - I use one of the following inter-changed - Nobby Naysayer or Doubting Dobbie (or something even stronger) ....It helps to give it a negative or discredited name as the psychology is stronger for you When Doubting Dobbie shows up, you don’t need to fight him with brute force positivity. Instead, you train yourself to pivot, redirect, and overpower him. And like lifting weights, you won’t be strong straight away. You start light. You build resilience. You build strength. And very quickly, Doubting Dobbie shows up less often and with far less power. Here’s a simple six-step flow to use every time he pipes up:

@Naila Din It’s amazing how much energy we can carry just from putting something off, and then the moment we finally do it, the shift is incredible.

Winning Teams Only Have the Best Players… IMPORTANT: Please Read
Hey guys, It’s great to see the community has more than doubled in the last week — welcome to all the new members. I’m genuinely excited about the energy and insights that fresh perspectives bring. That said, I want to be really clear about what this community is and isn’t. This isn’t a place for people who haven’t yet started their business journey. It isn’t a place for people just looking to sell, look for investors, self-promote, or collect contacts. This community is for serious business owners and investors who are looking to grow and scale... and who want to share, learn, and contribute along the way. If we start introducing the wrong people - forgive my bluntness, but those who are weak in mindset, only here to build their own network, or looking to take rather than give... then we dilute the value for everyone. That’s not what The Growth Syndicate is about. 👉 Please do recommend people. I want the right kind of growth here. I’m happy to keep the community free for now while I review who’s joining. But it isn’t about chasing numbers for the sake of it - it’s about quality. Also, a reminder of the community rules (image attached below): - No self-promotion - No selling - Respect people’s time - Keep the focus on education, inspiration, and motivation That’s the clarity and purity I want to protect in this space. I’m happy to discuss this if anyone wants to drop me a DM, or right here in the group. Mike
