Cursors in Fabric Warehouse
Hi everyone, Could you please assist. I am trying to use a cursor in a Fabric datawarehouse. The query is working fine on an on-prem SQL server, but It gives an error @@FETCH_STATUS not supported. The question is: Can we use cursors in a Fabric Warehouse ? If not what is the alternative? What I am trying to do here is to union all my cloned tables and then return then in one query. The tables are shown below. I just want to see if its possible. Below is the code: (You can change the '%demo_test_clone%' to any table you have on your warehouse. declare @SqlCommand as nvarchar(max) declare @TableName as varchar(50) declare @int as integer set @int = 1 declare CloneTables CURSOR FOR select name from sys.tables where name like '%demo_test_clone%' Open CloneTables fetch next from CloneTables into @TableName while @@fetch_Status = 0 begin if @int = 1 begin set @SqlCommand = concat('select * from ', @TableName) set @int = 2 end else set @SqlCommand = concat(@SqlCommand, concat('union all ', @TableName)) fetch next from CloneTables into @TableName end Close CloneTables Deallocate CloneTables EXEC sp_executesql @SqlCommand

Microsoft Fabric: Clone table
Hi everyone, I've looked at the documentation to clone tables and also the time travel SQL statement. I understand that with the time travel SQL query, I can select data that is less than or equal to 30 days back. What I am unsure about is if I create a table using the clone table statement today, will the data in this cloned table be available forever ("forever" used loosely here - meaning more than 30 days or until I delete the cloned table) If you have tested this and is 100% sure, please let me know. I need to propose an archiving strategy and cannot have my proposed strategy go sideways next month..... Thank you in advance! ๐Ÿฆœ Below are the links to the Microsoft documentation I am referring to. Fabric semantic model refresh
Hi Everyone, We have created a bunch of Fabric Semantic models. we are having errors while refreshing datasets. The error is - The scheduled refresh is cancelled because a new refresh is detected on the same database. Not sure what is the root cause of this.. Can anyone kindly advise. thanks

Hi, do you perhaps have your semantic models setup to refresh in a pipeline? We had this error when we placed the same semantic model in 2 different pipelines. It will give an error if its already refreshing. Also if you refresh a model in a pipeline and have a schedule setup on the model itself it could also cause an issue when the 2 happens at the same time.
