Namaste everyone, I have very exciting news to share. I've just uploaded to the classroom a new course called, 'The Essential Pranayama Initiation'. I'm confident that this course is one of the best Pranayama courses anywhere on earth. How can I say that without being arrogant? Well, it's because in this course, together, we will go through the Pranayama section of the illustrious Yoga guide Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha by Swami Satyananda Saraswati ji (reverent salutations and pranams). It is comprehensive and is essential for beginners. Even experienced practitioners I'm sure will appreciate the genius of it. Learning these Pranayamas is an amazing opportunity in ones life; no matter how it comes across your path. Let's do it and I am here to serve and support in whatever way I can on your own intensely individual journey of self discovery through this most excellent system of Yoga. With full love, Shiv P.s. There is a $50 charge for the course. HOWEVER, if the money is an issue right now but you are committed to Yoga and want to do this course PLEASE ASK AND IT WILL BE FREE FOR YOU. This is more important than anything for me; nothing should stand in the way of this divine knowledge.. if you want it.

Hilarious & interesting coincidence in this group...
The other day, I shared the song by the amazing Nooran sisters 'Vanjhali' https://open.spotify.com/track/5zMXuQLFhWkpXUUPtm6wuH?si=420d07a574d1427f It's based on the tragic love story between Heer and Ranjha, a bit like Indias Romeo and Juliet. Two star crossed lovers who end up dead together 💔 Then the next quote posted was from legendary Yogi Gorakhnath. What I didn't know at the time, was that in the story of Heer Ranjha, when Heer is forced to marry someone else and Ranjha leaves heartbroken, he actually bumped into Yogi Gorakhnath and himself become a yogi and his devotee! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heer_Ranjha It's a small world 😂

The legendary black bee
For the Pranayama aficionados out there, here's a 5 video about the black bee, Xylocopa, aka the Carpenter Bee. I've only come across this type of bee in rural Portugal. They are large for a flying insect and can sometimes frighten people with their sound, size and general presence. I'm not sure exactly, exactly, the bee the Yogis who discovered Brahmari Pranayama were referring to; but it must be one of the family Xylocopa. The sound they make is like the sound you make whilst performing Brahmari Pranayama. Brahmari Pranayama is a gift for anyone who is looking for a way to control their nerves (as it can be so calming) up until those who wish to increase their psychic perception and cross into the esoteric universe of Yoga. It is the exploration into the fundamental building blocks of your existence in the universe; sound, your senses and the witnessing consciousness. It is very easy and pleasurable to perform, not necessarily requiring any warm up or special dietary restrictions. ❤️

@Bethany Blaha that is so cool! And yes, I can imagine the other insects would be having to do extra yoga training to calm their nerves if they were to run into one 😁😄 @Jane Gollner have you ever seen these in the UK countryside? I've only seen them in Portugal like I said. I was trying to find a decent sound sample of them buzzing so that we can all have a reference for Bhramari Pranayama, but I didn't find anything really good...
QOTD
The four varna (castes) are perceived to be located in the nature of the individual, i.e. Brahmana in sadacara (righteous conduct), Ksatriya in saurya (valor and courage), Vaisya in vyavasaya (business), and Sudra in seva (service). A yogin experiences all men and women of all races and castes within himself. Therefore he has no hatred for anybody. He has love for every being. — Gorakhnath, Siddha Siddhanta Paddhati III.6-8 (Translator: D Shastri)
