womens work
I've been fiddling around for months with starting a community. I decided I needed to finish my book, left the skool community... and then the entire structure of what we thought we knew about the world collapsed. So... I made another pivot. It's time to launch. Womens work is a community for women who are ready to face the current challenges head on. We will unravel internalized patriarchal narratives, learn to center ourselves so that we can effectively lead. Whether you are leading yourself, your family, a team or an organization this is the space for you. We will have active discussion threads and weekly hot seat coaching calls. My website is a bit outdated but feel free to check it out here: Shannoniris.com For reference, I am a licensed therapist and coach and currently charge $300 an hour for 1:1 coaching. Instead of a $1200 monthly investment... it's $49/month... with a seven day free trial. Early adopters will have more 1:1 access to my direct coaching and as the community grows we will get the added benefit of more hearts and minds in the community. If you identify as a woman and are ready to be challenged to push through obstacles come check it out: womens work community.

@Andrew Jules many thanks!
Finding our seats at the holiday table
With the holidays approaching, this is the season where many of us get swallowed by family dynamics and the temptations we use to soften them. Our nervous systems slip into old grooves, and landing in the present moment becomes a hard (and often undesirable) thing to do. How often do you manage to arrive in the present moment—fully, not conceptually? Give us a rough estimate in the comments. If you want to take it deeper: What pulls you into the present moment? What do you notice when you manage to arrive in the here and now? What helps you stay anchored here—especially under pressure? I'm not talking about presence as a spiritual idea---rather as a physiological skill. Presence, as it turns out, is the foundational capacity of all relational work. Whether that relationship is to yourself or others. Half the clients I’ve worked with couldn’t land in the present moment at all when they began because of perpetual low grade activation states (fight, flight freeze). They described this as "go mode" always on the move and needing to get things done. Many others couldn’t land on demand, but described being thrust into it by something beautiful (like a rainbow) or something jarring... And even the clients with a strong meditation practice struggle to stay “seated” in themselves when in the midst of confrontation. Let's keep each other grounded, steady and connected as we move through this season by sharing what works. Shannon | The Practice Field

We are one position away from a ⭐️
I don't really want to do this because I'm not 100% sure I care about a star. I mean, I'm a competitive person, so I'm always going to strive for the star in life, but for my business, I try really hard to focus only on what truly matters - getting amazing results for my students/clients/members. Having said that, we are soooooo close to getting a star (top 30 in your category), that it would kind of be a shame to not do a final push for the top!!! So, if you are so inclined, please share a comment below and let's see if we can pull together as a team. Please finish the following sentence: If I had 100 additional members in my community, I would..... Or write about anything else you feel inspired to share, and then comment on someone else's comment IN THIS THREAD. Let's do this as an experiment for us all, and see what has the biggest effect on rankings! And if you're new here, we don't normally operate like this - it truly is an authentic place for collaboration and meaningful connections... 😉

Video Feedback?
I have a lot of resistance to posting video content but after my audit with @Lara Sloan (which was amazing 🥰) and at her encouragement... I did it. If you have a few moments to spare will you check this out and see what it does for you? Do you get the idea of what we will be doing? How does it make you feel? 🤔 https://www.skool.com/poise-people-8998/about here's the footage of me creating video content 😅

Are You Wearing Someone Else’s Strategy?
When I was growing up, I was the youngest in my family — which meant I lived in hand-me-downs. Shirts, jackets, jeans… even the trends I never actually liked. It wasn’t the worst thing in the world, but it definitely never felt like me. But I still remember the feeling the first time I finally had something that actually fit who I was — not what someone else had outgrown. I felt special, seen, and honestly… like I finally fit myself instead of trying to fit into someone else’s box. Lately I’ve been thinking about how many creators and business owners are still trying to grow with “hand-me-down strategies.” Random advice. Generic courses. One-size-fits-all programs that don’t consider your niche, your pace, your personality, or your goals. No wonder so many people feel stuck. They’re wearing someone else’s “outfit.” That’s why I built the Next Level Sprint. It’s not a template, a cookie-cutter framework, or a course you’re expected to squeeze yourself into. It’s a tailored-to-you 90-day mentorship where we build the right systems for your business, not the internet’s idea of what should work. If you’re tired of hand-me-down strategies, and you want something built for you, this is where we do that work. If you’re curious, check out this post to find my calendar link. Two spots available now.

love this. what a great metaphor. I have been thinking about this a lot. Taking inventory of what i am actually good at... and wanting to build my community around my personal strengths and not a formula that has worked for others because posting every day at 8:00AM sharp will not be it... but boy do I love it when others can. This is great @Mona Weathers
