Nothing Good Is Ever Easy My Dear Friends
The inspiration to write a book that will touch other lives and hearts is an amazing gift. Even so, it takes countless hours of dedication and discipline. Indie authors like you and I don't often gain great monetary wealth from our passion, and we must wear many hats along the way to turn out an excellent book. The blessings of being able to hone our skills as writers go far beyond mere monetary gain, however, as we are given the great opportunity to reach the world with something that is uniquely ours to give, and to see others benefit from this gift. I am new on here, just joined today, but I am glad to be a part of this community. Just know that you are not alone in your struggles to turn out excellent quality work. I share in your passion... and in your pain. Hoping to make a few good friends on here, so hit me up and let's chat... Your friend, Gerard.

Why Community Accelerates the Publishing Journey
Trying to publish alone can slow everything down. Having other nonfiction authors around people who are drafting chapters, revising manuscripts, planning launches, and sharing feedback creates energy and accountability. Celebrating wins, asking questions, and learning from real experiences helps everyone move faster. When authors treat this craft seriously and support one another, the process becomes less overwhelming and far more sustainable. Collaboration turns obstacles into lessons and keeps long-term goals in focus.

Author reviews for book cover
I have my advanced reader copy of my book and have started to share with readers to get some people ready for Amazon reviews at the time of book launch. I also know an author who I think would be a well-aligned thought-leader with the topic in my book. Is there value in asking her to read my book and offer a testimonial for the cover? Is there a particular etiquette or way of approaching this? Would love any perspective from others or videos from the @Book Launchers Team. Thank you!!

I'd imagine that asking someone to write a testimonial that'll go on your cover adds a bit of pressure on their end. (I know I'd be a little nervous!) Not to mention that testimonials on covers help sell books, so there is an added implication that you want it to be really good and cover-worthy. I'm sure Julie's videos mention something similar, but I would suggest naturally asking for a testimonial - no cover mention at all. Just explain to the person why your book aligns well with their niche and what they can get out of reading it. Then, if you can quote something they say on the cover...even better! Either way, you'll have a great review!
Author Launch Kit & Julie the Book Bot - OMG!
Houston, we have a problem. I just spent about 45 minutes in deep strategic mode discussing backend publishing of my book... and OMG!🤯 If you don't have the Author Launch Kit (ALK for the cool kids) or aren't using Julie the Book Bot (JB as I call her), you're missing out. AI has changed the game. Having "Julie" on my team has opened up possibilities of what is possible with the right resources. So, what have you asked Julie the Book Bot, and you were just blown away? Post it here so we can be inspired by your journey.

@Peter Gates Do you mean not giving ALK any more info on your current book because it might be better in a different book? Anything that you think might help get the word out there about your current book is worth adding into your book details. And you can create as many books as you want in here so that's up to you!
