From a Simple Comment to $2,000+ in Revenue - My Client Success Story
Assalamu Alaikum everyone! I'm Ibrahim, a Software Engineer, freelancer and final year student at NUST. About 2 months ago, I joined this community, and the most valuable thing I discovered here was @Haroon Khalil teaching approach. MashAllah, may Allah bless you abundantly, Sir. The journal writing practice has also been transformative. How I Found My Best Client (So Far) Two months ago, I was looking for new clients as my 2 local projects were wrapping up. One night, I decided to browse through some Skool communities I had previously joined. I found an interesting post and left a thoughtful comment. Within a few hours, I received a response from Jen - who has now become my best client, Alhamdulillah. What Made This Different: Jen was professional and straightforward. She didn't ask for my portfolio or years of experience. Instead, she offered me a paid trial project worth $150. I delivered beyond her expectations, and that changed everything. The Results: ✅ Day 1: Trial project - $150 ✅ Day 2: Nexus App project - $600 (completed in just 5 days) ✅ Ongoing: Monthly retainer project - $1,100/month ✅ Now: Working together on Upwork with her full trust Total earnings from this one client: $2,000+ and counting, Alhamdulillah! My Biggest Takeaway: There's a huge role of @Haroon Khalil in this success. JazakAllah Khair, Sir, for everything you've done for us. I've been planning to thank you since day one of this project. An Important Lesson About Dua: Here's something powerful - I got this client right after spending an hour with juniors at my NUST hostel, advising them to focus on skills, not just GPA. And also, I was continusly making prayers, that may Allah make me independent. This taught me that prayers matter tremendously, and Allah rewards you when you serve His people with sincere intentions. My Advice to You: - Engage genuinely in communities - a simple, thoughtful comment can change everything - Focus on delivering value, not just showcasing credentials - Help others without expecting anything in return - the barakah is real - Your skills and character speak louder than your portfolio

Congratulations @Ibrahim Bajwa. I would like to connect with you, I'm also on same page. I'm currently working as a developer right now, and looking to break into freelance as a developer.
Victim Mindset vs Opportunity Mindset
Back in 2022 when I started Fiverr as a amazon product designer, when everything was going great. I got hit with semester exams and multiple orders at the same time, I got exhausted I couldn't outsource the work as it was relatively new niche. One client cancelled the order and profile sank in the piles of gigs of Fiverr, and on top of that my account got suspended because I used my laptop to create Fiverr account for my friend (Such a dumb I was). And instead of blaming on any other thing I took the blame on myself and shifted my skills to development. And started a new journey with the guidance on my senior. The great thing was that I earned money from both the skills I worked on, and I'm still working as a Associate Software Engineer right now. This made me realise that, apki mehnat kabhi raigha nhi jati. Apko apki hr mehnat ka silla Allah ki kisi nemat k zariya zaroor milta hai. Aur tb se ab tk maine kabhi apny rizq ki fikr nhi ki aur hamesha Allah per tawakal rakha aur khud se kaha k mera kam sirf mehnat kerna hai or dua mangna hai, ata kerna Allah ke hath mai hai.
Victim Mindset vs Opportunity Mindset
⚠️Do not miss this post - Module 2 – Why lead generation is important
☐ Reason - Leads = future customers - No leads = customers ek din khatam hojayenge - Leads business ko zinda rakhti hein - No leads = No sales = business dead ☐ Lead generation k baghair income unstable - Clients randomly aatay - Kabi zyada, kam, kabi bilkul nahi - No fixed system - You can't estimate revenue, salaries/marketing budget you can afford, or net profit ☐ Lead generator ki earning potential - Lead generator direct revenue create krta he - Jitna business kamae = utna lead generator charge - Sada bahar demand - Lead generation ke new tareeqay market me aatay rehte hein ☐ Lead generation freelancers k lie powerful skill he - Skill + results = high income ☐ Agencies k lie leverage - Leads apne aur clients k lie - Ek system - Multiple clients - Recurring income ☐ Lead generation master kr ke demand kidher kidher - Freelancing platforms + Agencies + Coaches + startups + local businesses - Ache lead generators kabhi free nahi bethte ☐ Konsi industry high pay karegi - Jiska revenue high hoga - Real estate + Coaching & consulting + SaaS + Ecommerce + Finance & Shariah compliant insurance + Medical & dental - Reason: High ticket + high value + high profit margins ☐ Key takeaways - Lead generation = Income control skill - Jo leads laega kabhi replace ni hoga

Totally agree with your point that lead generation is control over your income.
Today's Agenda - 02/02/2026
1. First most important - Pray all Salah. 2. Decided to start a challenge - $2k USD before Eid (Ideally 600 - 700 before ramazan). 3. Wind up the changes client asked. 4. Go for a walk/jog. 5. Watch 2-4 Videos from Mindset Shift and upwork 101 and take notes. 6. Spend time with family.
