wow, big congratulations, Shannon!! 🥳
Please Introduce Yourself
One of the most important things I've learned since becoming an online entrepreneur is that the most important thing you can do to grow your business is to build relationships. Many of us (myself included) have rushed to promote our groups and services that we care so deeply about. And it only makes sense - we are excited about what we are doing! Today, I'd like to invite you to take a step back and introduce yourself to the group by answering the following questions: 1. Who are you personally? 2. Who are you professionally? 3. What is something you love doing outside of work? 4. What is something surprising about you? As you open up and make more connections, you will find that not only are people more interested in what you do, but they will also be more interested in helping you make connections with other people they know! 😉 After you introduce yourself, please scroll through the other introductions and add a comment to someone you have something in common with or would like to know more about. 😊 Please add your introduction in the comments below! ⬇️

@Frances Lucas Hi I feel a kinship to you as a Nana to 3 myself. I also love learning and self improvement. Happy to connect 1:1 if you would like. I'm in NC and focus on helping US nonprofits to succeed by applying business principles to their organization.

@Gail Jaffre welcome and would love to know more about your bookkeeping business. Do you have a specific niche? I'm your neighbor to the north in NC and also in financial services. Thanks @Faith Adebayo for making the connection!
Ready to Estimate Your Taxes?
One of the biggest myths I see with new creators is that there’s one “correct” way to estimate taxes. There isn’t. In Module 3 of Skool of Tax’s Signature Course Chaos to Confidence, we walk through three safe ways to estimate what you might owe - and the goal isn’t perfection. It’s consistency. Here are the options you’ll learn on Monday, December 29, 2025 in the Chaos to Confidence workshop at 12 pm EST (replay available also): - Last Year’s Tax Method (also known as Safe Harbor Method) - Great if your income is fairly steady and you want simplicity. - Percentage of Profit Method - A flexible approach that adjusts as your income changes. - Conservative Estimate Method - Perfect if you’re new or want extra peace of mind. Any of these is better than doing nothing. And the final estimated tax deadline for 2025 is approaching quickly on January 15, 2026. If taxes have felt scary in the past, this module is designed to help you feel calmer, more prepared, and more in control - one small step at a time. Join https://www.skool.com/ustax at the Premier level to learn how to simplify your estimated taxes and run your business in a way that you keep the most profit in your pocket. Taxes done with you, not to you…

What Has You Stressed Out Going into 2026?
If you’re building or running a Skool, what feels most pressing for you right now? 1️⃣ Getting people to actually join 2️⃣ Making consistent income 3️⃣ Understanding taxes and money 4️⃣ I’m not sure yet If you want, comment with what made you choose your answer… or what you wish someone had explained sooner.

@Lisa Z Yes, I still feel new even though I've had a community for a year now. I'm a big proponent of lifetime learning so Skool is stretching me daily!

1099-K vs 1099-NEC. Let’s clear this up.
If you make money online, you might see new tax forms in 2026. That doesn’t mean you owe more tax. It means reporting rules changed. Here’s the simple breakdown: 1099-K This comes from payment platforms like Stripe (as payor for Skool), PayPal, Venmo (goods & services), Square, or Etsy. - 2024 transactions: form issued if you’ve earned over $5,000 - 2025 transactions: over $2,500 - 2026 and later: over $600 It reports gross payments, not profit. 1099-NEC This comes from businesses that pay you directly for services. - Threshold stays at $600 for 2025 - No increase to $2,000 (that was proposed, not yet passed) Important thing to remember: Getting a 1099 does not create tax. You're taxed on profit, not the form total. Think of the form like a receipt copy. The IRS just got the same copy you did. Why this matters: As the thresholds drop, even small side income gets reported. That makes basic bookkeeping more important than ever. If you know your numbers, these forms are a non-issue. See the chart 👇that summarizes this information for you.
