Hey all. I wanted to announce a small win: I have an art channel, so I do a lot of shorts, which have mostly been in the 500 view range since I started the channel in... October, I think it was. (Well, after that inevitable start of a handful of shorts gaining only a handful of views.) A few weeks ago, one of them popped up to 750, so my next goal was 1000 views. Thursday afternoon's short has blown thru that goal: Well over 13,000 views now, and continuing to rise, although slowing a bit from yesterday. not millions the way the big channels get, but a nice surpassed goal for l'il ol' me. I know shorts are considered by some to be a sort of "lesser" form of viewing compared to long-form; and likely it's true that most shorts subscribers won't be interested in the long-form that eventually leads to enough watch hours for monetization. But just this one short has gained me nearly 20 subscribers in one day, which is a good percentage jump over the low 60s I had before that. A nice boost towards my next goal of surpassing 100 subs. A few tips for those doing demo shorts of any sort, whether art or otherwise: -- I've found my shorts (and long-form, for that matter) always get more views if my hands are in view in the thumbnail. This particular one, I think -- and it was just dumb luck -- has a moment of suspense because in that 3 to 5 second preview sample that plays in the feed, I'm seen picking up a card that I have just smooshed into thick paint on a gel plate, but the sample cuts off before I turn the card all the way over to show the result. So I'm going to try to aim for that little tantalizing semi-reveal from now on, although I don't think I'll always be able to manufacture it. I don't spend ALL my time smashing things face down onto a gel plate. lol! Anyway, cheers, everybody. Thanks to Alexa for this lovely community!

Hi Tribe! I wanted to share a big win with you all! 🎉 We posted our first video on August 1st, and it’s been a long, slow haul. We’ve been consistent, posting every week, and about a month ago, at Alexa’s encouragement, we bumped it up to three videos a week. It’s been challenging balancing this with our jobs, especially since for a while, it felt like nothing was really happening. That all changed yesterday. We’d been stuck at 97 subscribers for about a week, and each subscriber before that felt like it took forever. But yesterday, we posted a video at 8 AM, and by 9:30 PM, we finally hit the 100-subscriber mark! As the night went on, the views and subscriber count just kept climbing! Now, a day later, we’re at 139 subscribers and 2,239 views (the first time we’ve ever needed a comma in our view count)! 🙌 We even hit another milestone—our first negative comment! And we’re framing it as a positive sign because it means more people are finding us. I just wanted to jump on here to celebrate this milestone and encourage anyone else who’s feeling like growth is slow. Stay consistent—it does happen! I’m excited for the day I get to come back and share that we’ve reached monetization. Until then, let’s keep enjoying the journey together! 💚
