That “low glucose” feeling - AHA
I have sensed that my “I gotta eat” shakiness and inability to think right before lunch and mid afternoon were being caused by low blood sugar, but it is validating to notice (albeit a bit worrisome) how often I am borderline low or low 3 hours after I eat. I work from home. I generally have breakfast (after a cup of coffee with cream) before 9am. I run downstairs to grab food between zoom meetings usually between 11:30-1pm (am trying hard to take an actual break without my phone these days). Frequently I’ll have leftovers, 2 eggs on toast, or a wrap with tuna, mayo and lettuce, a frozen homemade soup or chilli, or a sandwich with whatever is available (cheese, ham, tomato, mayo). I tend to take a break to make a cup of tea between 2:30-3:30pm, often with a yogurt, an apple with cinnamon or peanut butter, or 2-3 cookies if we have them. Dinner at our house is almost always at 5:30pm, sometimes 6pm. Generally it is protein + veggie/salad + rice/potato. If protein is breaded, no starch. Pasta is either Napoletana (no meat or sausage on the side) or Bolognese, with grated parmesan. Other common meals are chilli, ground pork burrito with cheddar, lettuce, salsa, homemade guacamole, or chicken in a jarred Indian sauce (tikka masala, butter chicken) over rice with peas or broccoli side. Due to lack of time, and my work schedule, I am not the one shopping and preparing meals most of the time. I generally eat whatever I am served!

@Tara Campbell Thank you Tara, this is what I’ll work on. I am noticing that I have good energy and feel the best when my blood sugar is between approx 5.7 - 7.0. But it feels hard to keep it there! My average blood sugar is 5.3.
Libre View
Hi Everyone, here is the "Libre View" we spoke about on the call. I have attached my report for you to see what the report looks like. You can see your time stamped food and activity within your actual grids, as well as your average glucose per day, etc. I'm happy to comment on anyone's Libre View (anonymously) if you send me a direct message and I set you up within my account so that I can see your report. You can also create your own account here: https://www.libreview.com/chooseCountryLanguage

A Day In The Life Of Your CGM
1️⃣ 7:15 am – Walk ~5.5–6.0 🚶‍♀️ steady, baseline 2️⃣ 7:30 am – Coffee + collagen + MCT ~5.8–6.2 ☕ minimal impact 3️⃣ 8:15 am – Cold plunge ~5.6–6.0 ❄️ slight stabilization 4️⃣ 9:10 am – Eggs + cheese + coffee ~6.5–6.8 🥚 gentle rise (protein + fat = smooth curve) 5️⃣ 2:30 pm – Lunch (chicken + Brussels + carrots) ~5.8–6.2 🥗 flat + stable 6️⃣ 6:30 pm – Chocolate ~5.5–6.0 🍫 small bump 7️⃣ 7:30 pm – Pasta + meat sauce + broccoli ~7.5–8.0 🍝 highest rise of the day 8️⃣ 8:00 pm – Bath ~5.8–6.2 🛁 drop + reset 🧠 So… was that a spike? It never went above range (7.9). But look at the pattern 👇 ✔ ~2 mmol/L rise ✔ fastest jump of the day ✔ quickest drop after ⚡ This is the shift: It’s not about “good” or “bad.” 👉 It’s about pattern recognition. 🔍 What this pattern shows: * Stable all day * Slight dip before dinner * 🍫 Chocolate → 🍝 Pasta sequence * Bigger, faster rise than any other meal 🎯 What I’d tweak (without removing foods 👇) ✔ Move chocolate to after dinner ✔ Start dinner with protein/fiber ✔ Add a short walk (although I think the bath acted similarly to a walk). Same foods. Different response. 🧬 You don’t need extreme spikes to learn something powerful about your body. You just need to see the pattern 👌 SHARE YOUR DAY TOO!

Cereal before bed
I was never a snacker and always liked to have an early dinner and empty stomach before bed … until post partum breast feeding hunger. It hits hard especially right after dinner. All of a sudden I’m starving again as if I didn’t eat dinner and I feel so much “better” after a bowl of cereal (mesa sunrise gf flakes and added banana and almond milk). I knew there was likely more to the story of how I feel “better” after .. and the CGM confirms that. Big spike an hour later as seen on graph. Will be looking for a way to feel more satiated with the extra calories I need while BF (a very hungry baby), but without the spike 😅👍🏻

I had a late night cereal snack on day 1 (also mesa sunrise with banana but 2% milk!) and got a similar spike that went wayy high! Will have tonight and see if it happens again.
