Post-partum Question + Ayurveda
I have a client who's 3 weeks postpartum and everything is going fairly well. However, she is concerned about gas and bloating that may cause colic for the little one. Apart from the basics, reduce beans, pulses, cruciferous veggies (which she's already doing), are there any other Ayurvedic nutritional tips I can suggest. She's been really good with keeping to the postpartum rice pudding and having warm, liquid, spiced foods. Thanks x

Thank you for tagging me me @Cate Stillman. @Nina Saacks Baby abhyanga (massage) and exercises are great addition to prevent and reverse colic. Abhyanga principles similar to adults. After sufficient gap from feeding. Preferably before bathing. Use cured sesame oil. Gentle touch with baby, clock wise circular motions on belly, There is a chance baby will poop during massage so be prepared for that. Gently pressing baby’s knees towards the tummy about 3 times. First alternate leg and then both together. Do this by holding babies foot rather than the knee. I am traveling right now but can share a video if you want after a week or so.

Diving Back In
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Kids are back to school, and houses have fewer distractions for some. What does this look like for your fall rhythms? I am back at my desk a bit more. Balancing bringing in my garden, doing a space overhaul in my house, and stepping into what I need to accomplish in the next 4 months. Where am I starting? A plan! Penciling in what my goals are and how I'm going to architect my calendar are key. (Also attending the MOY workshop on Sept 11 & 12) How about you? How are you leaning out of summer and into fall to create what you desire?
