A few things from today's kiln unload
A few things from today's kiln opening. Hopefully a YouTube video will be coming soon with the full unload. I really loved the color on the orange and purple mug, but it ran like crazy (I dipped it too many times). Also, here is my attempt at a graffiti mug!

So beautiful and colorful! Wowza on that tall bottle… that took some skill!

@Sara Criner either way it takes skill and the glazing is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Great Idea
This group is such a great idea Suza, especially for those of us who don’t have YouTube channels. I also much prefer interacting rather than just watching sometimes. It’s much easier to ask questions and provide direct support as well. Love it!

Suza did an amazing thing bringing us all together here, it’s a fabulous group 😊
Pottery Popup Update
The weather was cold (55F, 13c) but cooperated as the rain stopped a couple hours before the popup! My sale was 10-4 and I was still setting up at 9:50 when the first person arrived! My hubby had painted 7 spots in the barnyard to help people know where to park and those spaces were all full plus we had overflow into the field from 9:50 - 12:30pm! From 12:30-4 there were 1-3 carloads browsing and buying. I almost sold out but still have some pieces… some I’m truly surprised didn’t sell (like my little cookie cutter trinket dishes). I had 40-45 sales, many with multiple pieces. My husband snapped a few photos but I was not able to get any video as I had hoped 🤷🏻‍♀️ Highlights: - the interactions with people and talking clay in general. - Seeing those handful of people who spent close to an hour picking their perfect pieces! - Connecting with a clay sculpture artist from just down the road! - Seeing young people pick out something for Mom or friends gifts. - Seeing some good friends and neighbors stop by to support. - A lovely friend who is also a master gardener made three beautiful bouquets for my tables. Due to day job work commitments, I didn’t do everything I wanted but thanks to fellow potters on here and friends, I made the mental commitment to NOT berate myself for things I didn’t do. I’m reframing to things I’ll work to do next time: - those great labels that Audrey showed us how to do in one of her videos - Keep a better inventory and at least count pieces like Diana has shared she does for their markets. - Price pieces the day before the market I’m sure more ideas will come to mind. After the market my husband helped me pack up and he scooped me away to take me out to dinner, it was a good day filled with connections, pottery, new ideas and new beginnings 😊 (Also, I’m tired! 😂)

@Tracey Aim Thank you Trace 😊. The setup wasn’t complete when my hubby took the photos… I posted a video under Ronda’s comment of it from mid-day when I had a moment. A bunch of stuff is gone but you can see the other display stairs that I had set up.

@Pat Webb Thank you Pat 😊. You’re right, a few pieces left is perfect!
Hot off the presses!

Oh wow, some beautiful pieces there! Love that crow mug especially!
I’d like to introduce you to… the herd 💗🐘
They bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart. While I don’t do realistic art/sculpture, I saw something like these simplistic animals over a year ago and wanted to make myself a herd of elephants and finally gave it a go! I’ve always been fascinated by the elephant system of community which scientists say highlight: - A circle of protection around the community - Shared strength - Deep loyalty - Lifelong bonds As our potters community grows I see this happening all around the group… so, if you’re so inclined, please join the herd 😊

@Lori Buckley oh Lori, so glad you joined and I’m honored that your first comment was on the herd 💗 I feel like “who am I” to do a tutorial, but I think you discussed that in one of your videos a month or two ago… you don’t have to be a master potter to share what you do… I’ll likely do a tutorial soon 😊. I also briefly explain in the kiln opening that I still haven’t posted 😂
