Transition from large firm to solo estate planning practice
I’m a new member of this club and would love to hear any insights or advice any members have on transitioning from a large firm to a solo practice with the help of Lawyer Club and My Legal Academy. I would be focused on estate planning. I would also love to know of any attorneys in this club or otherwise who have successfully executed a similar transition. Thanks very much!

@Michael Curley Love to have you on the Estate Planning Mastermind. I can't really speak to large firms having never been in one, but I've been practicing for almost 30 years and a partner in a boutique estate planning firm for almost 20, so I'm happy to share what I've learned in the trenches.
Loom for SOPs
Loom has just released a new AI feature that can write up an SOP based on your video. The workflow is as simple as pressing a button in Loom and it writes up a step by step SOP. It has notes and tips after the step by step instructions and a link to the Loom video that you recorded. Then you click a button and copy the text to your clipboard and paste into a Google Doc. Doneso! 🔥

Two Cool Mac Tools
Here are two tools that I use daily on my Mac to keep me max productive. 1. Yoink - Simple little tool that disappears from view when you don't need it. What it does is offer you a place to drop files when you need to move them around on your Mac or is you use an automation you can drop scanned PDFs there automatically (or anythbing else, that's just an example). It sits on the screen with your files (mine's positioned at the lower right) and then you can move them on to their final destination and it disappears again until you need it. Helps you keep your computer desktop tidy, just like you should keep your physical desktop tidy. Super useful and elegant tool. 1. CleanShot - This is the ultimate screenshot tool for your Mac. I know, I know, you're thinking why the hell do I need a screenshot tool. Well CleanShot allows you to do things like get a scrolling screenshot so you can screenshot an entire webpage for example or document if you need to. It also has annotation tools and can sync to the cloud so you can access your screenshots wherever you need them. Super useful little utility that makes life simpler. Tools like these just make me smile! 😀

Are you a better Lawyer or better CEO?
Interesting take from @Conrad Saam at Mockingbird Marketing! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/tZo3bAXUZP6reDrx/?mibextid=oFDknk So fellow lawyers: 1. Which one are you? And 2. (harder question) Which one would you rather be? (Here's a Followup YT video as well).

@Jason Plotkin Funny, I changed mine to CEO and founder around a year ago. It gets you thinking in the right frame.
How to Build Your Estate Planning Practice
The key in marketing estate planning services is to realize that you have to meet the client where they are in the buying cycle. Some leads will be ready to buy right now, but most will not. To have a successful practice, you have to be able to market to the 97% who aren’t ready to buy right now. The way you do that is really a pretty simple formula. Offer them a high value content offer like a checklist or downloadable whitepaper in return for an email address. Offer them an appointment right now if they want it but don’t be too aggressive. Then send them additional content going forward like emails, webinars, workshops, etc. When they’re ready to buy, you will be positioned as an expert and offering them an easy on ramp for your services. That’s all you need to build a seven figure estate planning practice.
