Time for a shake up
Are you all open to going back to book learning? While I love Benโ€™s stuff, it gets stale. Or maybe itโ€™s just me. If itโ€™s a โ€œYES,โ€ Iโ€™d like to suggest a book that Iโ€™ve enjoyed: Beyond Belief: The Science-Backed Way to Stop Limiting Yourself and Achieve Breakthrough Results (released March 10, 2026) by Nir Eyal, with Julie Li, explores how hidden, self-limiting beliefs dictate our actions and offers science-backed methods to replace them. It introduces the "Three Powers of Belief"โ€”Attention, Anticipation, and Agencyโ€”to help readers reshape their mental models for improved health, relationships, and career success. If โ€œYes,โ€ but a different book, provide your suggestion in the comments.

Received the book and started reading it. I see the correlation between the book and self-awareness. I was thinking about yesterday's call, specifically on how we don't have external self-awareness. In a similar way, hearing my voice on an audio recording or seeing myself on a video makes me uncomfortable because it's not how I see or hear myself, but it is how others see and hear me.
Compress Time
I started using the Eisenhower Matrix several months ago and it has been a game changer for how I plan my week. Here is what it showed me fast: most of the things I was treating as urgent were not actually important. I was just conditioned to react to them. The matrix forces one simple question for everything on your list: Is it important? Is it urgent? ๐Ÿšจ Do Now โ€” Important and urgent. Critical decisions, people issues, live fires. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule โ€” Important, not urgent. Strategy, team development, culture, planning, reflection. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Delegate โ€” Urgent, not important. Routine requests, approvals, admin follow-up. โŒ Eliminate โ€” Not urgent, not important. Distractions, low-value meetings, reactive busywork. What used to take me a week I am now compressing into a day. Not because I am working more hours. Because I finally know what actually deserves my attention. Fifteen minutes on Monday morning or a Sunday night. That is the whole system. Try it and tell me what lands on your eliminate list. I am curious what you find.

@Michael Clegg it's controlled chaos! I learned a lot. Hired a person to help prepare tax returns, but fired him quickly when I realized he didn't have the experience he claimed to have.
Self Awareness
Where do you find Self-Awareness?

Self awareness came to me that last few months listening to clients during our meetings and trying to register the compliments I received, which is very uncomfortable for me. Also realizing that I received 28 referrals this tax season and I'm finding encouragement that people wouldn't refer me if they were not happy with the services I provided.

@Michael Clegg I'm a slow learner when it comes to this. But I figure it out eventually
Is anti-fragility still necessary to be successful?

But March has been a good reminder that the world doesnโ€™t really care about our plans. So I want to put a simple question to the group: Is anti-fragility still necessary to be successful, or is it optional? If you think itโ€™s necessary, say why. If you think itโ€™s not, tell us what replaces it. 1. Where did volatility show up for you in the last 10 days, and did you get stronger, stay steady, or take a hit? 2. What part of your leadership or business is most fragile right now (the smallest disruption causes the biggest damage)? 3. Where are you playing it โ€œsafeโ€ but actually sitting in the dangerous middle, too much downside, not enough upside? 4. Whatโ€™s one thing you could remove this month that would make you more resilient immediately (a commitment, dependency, or complexity)?

A lot of leadership advice assumes stability, clear plans, steady execution, predictable inputs. But March has been a good reminder that the world doesnโ€™t really care about our plans. **If you don't think GOD has a sense of humor, make a plan. Guaranteed GOD will put you on a different path. So I want to put a simple question to the group: Is anti-fragility still necessary to be successful, or is it optional? **In my opinion, it's necessary. If you think itโ€™s necessary, say why. **It's necessary because there are countless obstacles to overcome; we don't know what we don't know so we can't plan for everything. We can't plan for everything, we have to be able to pivot, make changes on the fly as we gather more information. If you think itโ€™s not, tell us what replaces it. 1. Where did volatility show up for you in the last 10 days, and did you get stronger, stay steady, or take a hit? **Tax season is full of volatility and controlled chaos. There are times I get stronger; most of the time I stay steady; occasionally I take a hit. So many things going on at the same time makes it difficult to focus. 2. What part of your leadership or business is most fragile right now (the smallest disruption causes the biggest damage)? **For me, I'm fragile because the pressure of tax season, the person I hired for tax preparation is working as well as I hoped, trying to juggle many duties and responsibilities at once. 3. Where are you playing it โ€œsafeโ€ but actually sitting in the dangerous middle, too much downside, not enough upside? **Perfect timing to ask me this question. I'm starting to gather information about switching broker/dealers for my wealth management business. The real data gathering will start after April 15, but someone piqued my interest. I need more information to make an informed decision. 4. Whatโ€™s one thing you could remove this month that would make you more resilient immediately (a commitment, dependency, or complexity)? **Stay disciplined on my scheduling of clients and acceptance of new clients.
๐Ÿ”ฅ A Spark - while reading todayโ€™s devotional
March 10 You are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26 NLT To be poor in spirit is to recognize our spiritual poverty and our constant dependence on God. Children rely on their parents for protection, care, and provision. Because of that relationship, they do not live as if they are abandoned or without help. But apart from their parents, they would be helpless and in great need. Dependent children do not spend their days consumed with worry over food, clothing, or shelter. They trust that what they need will be provided. In the same way, when we come to Christ, we become children of God and can trust our heavenly Father to care for us. Jesus said, โ€œWhat man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? โ€ฆ How much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!โ€ (Matthew 7:9, 11 NKJV). Before we can be filled, we must first admit our need. Before we can be made rich in Him, we must first acknowledge that without Him, we are poor. Application: Antifragility starts with surrender, not self-reliance. When I admit my dependence on God, I stop building my life on fragile confidence and start developing a deeper strength that can endure pressure, uncertainty, and disruption.

This is very deep. I struggle with knowing if it's a message from God or is it the other voices in my head trying to lead me down a path?
