Hey Artists I hope you're having a great weekend. I thought I would show you what I am working on right now (see the video below). I'm working on a new painting project and want to show you some of the process. This is also a scene I have painted before, for which there is a painting tutorial in Sam's Art School and the VIP tier here in the Painters Hub. I painted this in 2021, and whilst I was happy with it, I always felt I could have done better. Recently, I stumbled across my reference photos again and thought, "I wonder what this painting would look like if I painted it again." Sometimes I paint landscapes I have painted before because I like to see where I have come from and how much I have progressed in that time. This is one of those paintings. Every year for the past ten years, I give my wife “forever roses”. I just started this year’s rose in oil. Here is a couple of roses from years past. They are acrylic on stretched canvas.
