The lady who shaped my moral compass. The lady who worked 3 jobs after migrating to Canada. The lady who sang me bedtime songs every night (I can still hear them vividly) The lady who had 3 boys but never made any of them feel less or more than the other (that’s a powerful quality). Everything ended with “I love you”. Not everyone has the same blessing as I did — and I don’t take that lightly. So, for me to be able to give back and guide her and my dad into a healthier body… that’s a dream. That’s my duty as a son. We watched her and my dad's parents pass early from frailty, cancer, and obesity. I’m trying to make my parents see that although it’s common, it’s not normal. 📷 Photo timeline: 👉 2018: Probably the heaviest I’ve seen her. This is when she visited my wife and I and we went on a cruise around Asia. 👉 2021: Hyperthyroidism hit. She lost a lot of weight, but not in the healthy way. Muscle loss was apparent too. She felt chronically low in energy. Went on meds. 👉 Jan 2024: She visited me in BKK. She put back a lot of her weight. I taught her how to track food, I showed her how to train. She kept walking. 👉 Jan 2025: She visited again— totally different person. She trains 3x/week, does Zumba & sauna, and she can eyeball food now. Completely off the meds (if I'm not mistaken) I’m just lucky my ASIAN parents listen to me 😆 If you have parents whom you wish took care of themselves better, lead by example first. That’s the best you can do. Don’t let your own kids wish the same thing for you ❤️❤️ Age ain’t shit! Proud of you @Mary Liu

Please allow me to share my fitness journey. I complete the three routines guided by Darren, that’s three days in a week. In addition, I attend two one hour class of Yoga, minimum one hour class of Body Combat, two one hour class of Zumba and minimum one hour class of New Body (name of the workout class). I go to gym four, five days a week. I feel stronger, energetic, relaxed and that allows me to have a deep sleep.. Oh yeah, plus 15 minutes of sauna every time I go to the gym.

I want to shout out @Valerie Frey real quick 💪 She’s down 42 lbs so far -- not because she cut carbs, skipped social events, or lived off salads and suffering. What she did do: - She's COACHABLE - Learned how to eat without restriction - Stopped labeling foods as “good” or “bad” - Built consistency on normal, imperfect weeks - Focused on habits she could actually repeat long-term This is what people miss. Fat loss that lasts doesn’t come from being strict — it comes from being sustainable. And on top of her own progress, she’s been an absolute superstar in this community. Encouraging others, sharing wins, being vulnerable... Showing what this actually looks like in real life. So yeah — huge appreciation for you, @Valerie Frey!
