Are there any suggested strings specifically for jazz?

My interest in Jazz Violin comes largely through Grappelli. But my interest in Jazz comes from hearing my Dad's jazz albums growing up. Later I learned to play my great-grandfather's violin (never learned violining well), then later learned to fiddle with an eye toward Bluegrass. But, improvisation has always been a mystery and now this seems the right course to take to play some fun jazz tunes and learn to improvise.
